As I see it all he has to do is hit the damned thing and pass a toughess check and it just instantly dies?
Can someone say if this is exactly what happens?
I'm just asking because I never see people talk about combining the poor little captain with a priest and just tossing him at the most expensive monstrous creature we can find.

pretty much yeah. However there are some drawbacks. namely being T3 means that anytihng with S6+ (most MCs and usually one of their weapon) will insta-kill the poor captain. His Initiative doesnt help either because the only CC MC he'll likely catch that has a lower initaitve is the Carnifex, everything else will smack him into a fine salsa paste before he gets his attacks, and his squad has only 5 people.

Oh yeah, purplefood is correct :S Sorry mods.
@MechaEmperor7000
Yeah but most powerful tyranid monstrous creatures are initiative 1. The few that aren't (mawloc, etc) will just mostly pop out near your lines where Rahem won't be able to easily reach due to him outflanking.
Too bad that sword isn't a power fist

Could also go into Tactics, since he is asking why people dont use them as often.
HQ MCs will make ass of your day certainly, since they'll always be in the front lines and will likely be the first things you hit. Tyrannofexes are some rear-lines creatures that you'll go after, but remember that they have one template weapon, possibly a second one or the Rupture cannon, and a 20-shot Fleshborer, which will eat up Al's squad and then some, especially since now it's forced to fire at that one target.
Potential other targets could include Ogryns, Grotesques, Characters, and other such multi-wound models. Some of them you'll beat in initative, others you shoud just avoid. Still better against multi-wound infantry models, since they wont clobber Al in one go. The likes of Strakken or Mephiston will flatten the good captain though.
