Okay, so if i attack a Archon with say a, necron lord with war scyth, would it break the Shadowfield.

No, a warscythe does not allow saving throws to be made.

If there is no saving throw made, then there is no chance to fail a throw which would destroy the shadowfield.

No, because the Necron Lord would be dead before he could even attack....

6 attacks hitting first and wounding on 4s with only the invlunerale is unlikely to kill the Necron Lord....now, if he's hit by another unit with an agoniser, then he's probably dead.

Might get lucky with a Huskblade...

Huskblade is probably the better odds - its a power weapon as well yes?

If so then it's 2/3*1/6 chance of killing the lord per attack, as opposed to need 3 lots of 2/3*1/2.

Yes, it's a power weapon. Also, when I run the Huskblade I also take Drugs since most of the rolls increase the usefulness of the blade. If the Archon has +1S or Re-roll failed to-wound rolls, it increases the odds a good bit.

Nice! No, I've only gotten in three games so far, and only taken one IC's head.

I had mine at S10 and wrecked 3 tanks before a lucky lascannon shot shorted the field and instakilled him.

Soon we'll be hearing cries of cheese when Archons hit the table.

I doubt it. That was ten years ago. Remember in the old codex, when you could pick multiple drug effects from round to round, from a list including "re-roll to hit" and "ignore the first failed save"? For several years Archons were the single nastiest HTH character in the game.

Although I supposed newer players will not remember their old glory.
