Well, just for the hell of it, I've decided to make an Imperial Armor Company. This army is almost completely fluff, and hence there are gaping wholes in it. E.g. the lack of REAL troops choices, and the over reliance on squadrons. But hell, I like it, and I like the fluff, so I'm just tossing it out there.
HQ
Command Tank: Vanquisher, Coaxial Heavy Stubber
Elites
Squadron Command Tank: Lascannon, Heavy Bolters
Troops
Squadron 1
Leman Russ Battle Tank: Lascannon, Heavy Bolters
Leman Russ Battle Tank: Lascannon, Heavy Bolters
Squadron 2
Leman Russ Demolisher: Multimeltas, Heavy Flamer
Leman Russ Demolisher: Multimeltas, Heavy Flamer
Squadron 3
Leman Russ Exterminator: Heavy Bolters
Leman Russ Exterminator: Heavy Bolters
Squadron 4
Leman Russ Executioner: Plasma Cannons
Heavy Support
Hydra Flak Tank
Hydra Flak Tank
Destroyer Tank Hunter
I personally think this list would be very very fun to play with, and hell, the sheer amount of AV14 would be a severe problem for most players. So what does dakka think?

An excellent anti horde army, me says. an of course, an excellent anti tank list as well. Looks like a fun list to play with.
But why the Hydras? They're only good against jet-bikes, and with all those blast weapons, you won't really need the hydras in my opinion.

Hydras are for anti transport I assume. Battlecannons that scatter arent that good against a rhino. OF course with this, mind as well swap out exterminators for more vanilla russes. Not a real big fan of the MM sponsons, you'll have to be real close to use those efficiently. Also although its only 36", the vanq should have a co ax stubber. Give it a boost when it shoots.

Well, in the fluff the Hydras are there to deal with flyers and other such things. On the table top of course, they're more likely shooting at tranports, skimmers and the like. Similarly, the Exterminators are in to give a bit more....direct confrontation version against Rhinos and MCs to some extent.
As for the multimeltas....well, the Demolisher cannon is only 24", so it's going to be pretty close already. The mulitmelas are there to give that extra boost of firepower where it counts.
I think I will drop the lascannon on the Vanquisher in favor of a coaxial stubber....it'd actually make my list legal, as right now I'm 5 points over. The main list is now edited to account for this.

Problem with the sponsons is you can't shoot them all if the tank moves. Tanks are weakest in CC when anyone can hit rear armor, so you want to keep them moving. Are the points worth it on sponsons that you may only get to fire if you either don't move (allowing auto hits next turn when what you just shot at charges you), or move and maybe get to fire one multimelta?
By the time you're that close with a demolisher I find I'm much more likely to use the HHF to toast the charging baddies.

Sponsons are there almost entirerly for fluff reasons....That and I've modelled a good chunk of these tanks already, and I like the look of the sponsons, so I'm stuck with them. Yeah, they're usually useless, but they do come in handy once in a while, and give me a nice line of protection against being glanced to death.
I'm debating dropping the two Hydras in favor of skills for the tanks....I'm not sure of it though. It might be nice to have an all Leman Russ hull army, but then it feels too open to air attack. (From a fluff point of view of course, flyers are rare enough that I doubt I'll ever need to worry about them). I'm still considering it though....Slick Loaders on some of the Battle Tanks might be nice and Disciplined/Hardened Crew could be extremely useful for the Demolishers. I considered Veteran commander for the Vanquisher, but I felt the coax gun made it more useful....
Here's my edited list with the Hydras dropped for special skills.
HQ
Command Tank: Vanquisher, Lascannon, Coaxial Heavy Stubber, Ace Gunner
Elites
Squadron Command Tank: Lascannon, Heavy Bolters, Slick Loaders
Troops
Squadron 1
Leman Russ Battle Tank: Lascannon, Heavy Bolters, Slick Loaders
Leman Russ Battle Tank: Lascannon, Heavy Bolters, Slick Loaders
Squadron 2
Leman Russ Demolisher: Multimeltas, Heavy Flamer, Battle Hardened Crew
Leman Russ Demolisher: Multimeltas, Heavy Flamer, Battle Hardened Crew
Squadron 3
Leman Russ Exterminator: Heavy Bolters, Night Fighers
Leman Russ Exterminator: Heavy Bolters, Night Fighters
Squadron 4
Leman Russ Executioner: Plasma Cannons, Skilled Driver
Heavy Support
Destroyer Tank Hunter: Ace Gunner, Camo Netting
