ok, so there is this planet, and its human populance is important in some way, like they're immune to desase or something.

then, the planet is invated by either tyranids, dark eldar or chaos forces, and they wipe out most of the humans there.

some individuals survive, and the imperium thinks the idividuals valable to clone the the immune triats for the good of mankind.

so they dispact some space marines to collect the survivors before they get eaten/slaved/corrupted.

so, the space marine army is at one end of the table with the four or five models representing the survivors.
the opposig team i at the opposite end.

there is a landing pad on the middle of the table. the space marines have to escort the survivors to the landing pad.

if that is successful, a land speeder appears on the table. the speeder must move to the landing pad. if this is successful, the space marines win.

the opposing team can win by destroynig the survivors before they get to the landing pad, or, if they are unsucseful at that, they destroy the land speeder before it gets to the pad.

tell me if you like it or how i could improve it.

Maybe change the land speeder to an shuttle with custom stats. Land speeders are too fragile Tyranid player could just wait and shoot it to pieces.

Yea I agree with Purplefood I would probably make it 12/12/10 or if you want to go for the ridiculous you could make it a landraider without weps.

We did a thing in a game once where you can assign the objectives to squads, basically this represented a squad escorting a HVA to the target location.
This might be a good addition so that the attackers have to destroy the squad instead of the people.

Rather than these humans being special because they're the remants of a population immune to disease, it might be easier just to depict them as psykers, valuable individuals.

However, these rarely are the concern of Astartes, so perhaps they might be blanks (anti-psykers) which sometimes are found useful to Deathwatch groups.

Either way, go for it.

I could see this done for many different armies, not just Space Marines.

Instead of the Land Speeder or custom shuttle, you could just use the stats for a Valkyrie.

And yes, this scenario works for most "good" armies, regardless of who the bad guys might be. Marines, Guard, =][=, Eldar, Tau... they would all make good escorting forces. And anyone could be the opposition, possibly even the same kind of army!

Make the SM force and survivors have half as many points as the baddies, then when they reach the landing pad a thunderhawk (there are tons of scratch building articles) enters the board using infiltration and has to land at the pad (remove survivors at this point) and then make base contact with any edge of the board
to make things more intense have a second enemy army that spawns when the thunderhawk appears on the board (the whole army using infiltration) this way the thunderhawk can't simply kill the original baddies and be done with it

just some ideas

Not half points otherwise it would be impossible. Maybe 3/4 points and some other advantage like the opposing force has to come in from reserve with only 3 units deployed at the start.
The second army is a good idea though.
