Subject: Landspeeder storm question

Hey guys,
Just a clarification more then anything, my friend has just got a landspeeder storm for his crimson fists army, we had a bit of a friendly debate about something:
The heavy bolter (or upgraded weapon) can only be used by scouts who are boarded on the landspeeder storm or does the storm have its own gunner? We can't find anything to clarify this in the codex, but our guess is that the storm does not have its own gunner as it carries 6 models (1 driver and I assume the 5 scouts) and so the heavy weapon can only be used when there are passengers on the storm, is this the case?
Also are there any restrictions to the scouts who are riding the storm from firing weapons? I assume it would class them as being stationary so they should be able to shoot snipers, heavy weapons and bolters as if they where stationary.
Cheers

Guns mounted on vehicles have their own "gunner" - hence the vehicle having its own BS.
If the vehicle moves an embarked unit counts as having moved as well.

The fact that the storm only has the 6 scout models acctualy modeled onto it and that therefore does not make the math work out, does not mean it has weird in game changes.
The speeder's bolter/weapon if fired by the strom's crew, not by the unit riding in the storm, ie. there really should be 1 more scout model on the storm but there isnt, assume one is hiding really really well.
Rules for units firing from the vehicle are in the tranport section of the vehicles part of the rulebook, give it a read,(also read open topped vehicles) in short you can only fire heavy weapons if the storm was stationary, and can only fire other weapons if it moved 6" or less, dont assume, you will assume wrong, read the rules.
Long story short, the models DO NOT change the rules, all vehicles have there own crew and gunners, if the model does not have the right amount of bodies in it (like the storm) that has no effect on the rules what so ever.

Cheers guys, I knew someone would clear it up as I don't have access to a rulebook myself it is my friend that has this and he was uncertain himself. As you said if you assume it is probably wrong, I wanted to make sure before he used the model so we didnt spend half the game reading the rulebook.

Fair enough, I remember the days of borrowing friends rule books, it leads to weird rules

But you are correct that you don't need a physical model on the land speeder storm to fire the weapon.
By the same token, there are no crew models included with a rhino or razorback and the weapons on those vehicles fire with no problem.
