I don't play Dark eldar and certainly can't afford to do so, but I really like what the scourges has been reformed into and the illustration they have now really touched my heart.
So now I'm thinking of converting a couple of Scourges just for fun...
What would you say about taking Kabalite warriors, adding wings (prolly gw:s plastic or something) ,beaks to the heads, and some talons? Then, shorting the splinter rifle to make a shard carbine and use the appropriate weapons for scourges, such as converted dark lances for heat lances and a blaster or two.

Or would wyches be more fitting with their dynamic poses? I'm not sure, as scourges are quite well armoured, but i'm not sure about the warriors either...

I would look into some heroclix minis for the wings. I know I have a bunch of wings from some Hawkman minis and a few others. You can get the common versions of the characters with the wings you want to use for like $0.50 to a $1.00.

That sounds awesome and an idea i've been thinking of. Swooping Hawk wings would look good but that's an expensive route to go. I was going to use kroot beaks since i have a ton of spare kroot, or you can green stuff them. I would use warriors since Scourges are kabalite instead of wych cult.

Good luck!

Kroot beaks might work, but I think green stuffing would be more convenient since the kroot feels more like having weird mouthes than beaks.
For wings I was thinking about reaper Angel wings (a bit converted)

or microrart wings (also a bit converted)

And I would use warriors for basics, since I would mainly use the unhelmeted heads, and thus would get conversion parts for my Eldar.

I second the love for the illustration in the codex. It looks very sinister... Khemri carrion wings? If your only doing a couple you might as well make 'em fancy.

You know, I think you might have something there... The carrions wings aren't that bad... and that'd give me the beaks too. A bit expensive, though.
I was thinking to perhaps take wings and convert them with gs and plastic tubes to their backs.
Has anyone bought the Reaper wings? Are they in metal or plastic?

I've been considering this for a while. I intend to make my own version however and use the wings from a box of gargoyle brood and using green stuff for the beaks/tallons since I'm planning on making 10+ models and my own time/money constraints. They won't have the feathered look though.
