Using spearhead rules I came across an issue I have been not able to find explained on the rules:

If 3 heavy support units become one SPEARHEAD formation, do I have all 3 slots available to get 3 more no-SPEARHEAD units or have my heavy support options been used up?
Is this the same even using more than 1 SPEARHEAD?

These questions came to my mind after watching a picture of an army composition chart where an all brand new "spearhead formation" symbol appears, just next to HQ.

"Spearhead" is a seperate addon to the FOC chart. Units selected as part of the Spearhead do not take up their usual FOC slot, but the Spearhead slot.

Think of spearhead as similar to a dedicated transport that is normally a heavy support, such as a space marine Land Raider. If you take it as a dedicated transport it does NOT take up a heavy support slot any longer - same for spearheads.

So, turning that upside down, does it mean that if I put my 6 troop options inside a SPEARHEAD formation, I still must cover 2 minimum troop units?

No, because in a spearhead game the force org is entirely optional....the only requirement is a single spearhead, from memory. Note that everything is greyed out....
