It's been some time since my last communication and there has been some slow and steady progress with the Terra Lords.
As previously mentioned Terra Lords are a DIY chapter and starting from scratch has given me the chance to refresh some of my rusty modelling and painting skills.
The first project was my Bike Chaplain which I'm happy with. But choosing black as a base colour has been tricky. It looks bad-ass but needs some skill in highlighting and contrasting - I'm working on that.
I began the marshalling of my force with box kits left over from years of collecting. Included in this post is an assault squad (jetpacks+red shoulder pads), a tactical squad (white shoulder pads) and a terminator assault squad (all black w lightning claws). The Thunder hammers were pillaged from the termies for the assault squad, IMHO they look so bad-ass. Hammers are part of the Terra Lords iconography so what better way to smash your enemies than by landing on them from a great height and smashing them to pulp.
I have WIP for Venerable Dreadie conversion, Chapter HQ all in termie armour, Bike Squad (converted) plus a infinite number of half-baked ideas that only need spare time and funding.
Still a few minor touch-ups before these samples are considered finished.
Any tips on painting black and conversions are most welcome.
