I want to know your favoriite unit and why? How did they become your favorite unit, was something they did in battle or do you just like them.
Mine would be my 10 man unit of CSM because they have one the game countless times for me.

Mines would have to be my squad of 7 Noise Marines with 6 sonic blasters and a blastmaster: Dunk them on an objective and pump that funky beat!

Either the Emperor's Champion, because he kills, maims and burns better than Khorne Berzerkers, or the Grey Knight Terminator Brother-Captain/Grand Master, because they're probably (fluff-wise) the most powerful Space Marines that exist, excluding Primarchs.

My 10man Assault squad just because i think they look awesome

My 10 man chaos space marine squad..or more precisely, the Icon Bearer. That guy survived 2 turns of shooting from a Leman Russ Executioner and a Basilisk by Going to Ground on top of an objective in some ruins!
The Executioner had plasma sponsons and the player is one of those who just can't fail to roll "Hit".

The their is the last 3 fire warriors of a squad that beat 5 Chaos Space Marines in first shooting and then close combat! Though the last surviving Chaos Space Marine they failed to catch ended up killing my Commander.

30 Gargoyles... They are ignored, and often reach lines the fastest of my units. When they finally do reach, and I charge their Terminators... He laughs and asks what they are going to do, that is, until I pick up 60 dice, and say that he has 10 insta-wounds to take...

10 Striking Scorpions exarch with biting blade
Because the mash everything up in combat! 40 attacks on the charge.

Or

10 Harlequins w/ troupe master and shadow seer and all with kisses
Because they have 40 rending attacks at initiative 7!

+ they both look awesome.

My 5 sternguard. They can literally handle anything short of a monolith.

Lately?

40 guardsmen with a commissar and a priest with some outfitting of special weapons.

Has to be the keeper of secrets. Just an awesome stat line and some sweet upgrades makes him a pain in the ass to defeat.

squad of five ogryns with commissar yarrick in a chimera. i know, alot of points, but, just fun. they can go toe to toe with alot of units and stay around for a while.

Squad of super expensive demolitions veterans with three flamers dropping on top of a unit of infantry. Meqs, orks, nids it doesn't matter. They all die, no exceptions. They've done this for me on at least a dozen occasions. True, they rarely survive the turn after but what a show. Also gotta love my th/ss termies. Deepstriking or footslogging it doesn't matter, they'll get there. And when they do 99% of the time they wreck face. Or my nob bikers, gotta love them gitz!

TH/SS terms with Lysander in a Land Raider

I enjoy my Incubi w/ an archon attached. Short of heavy armor, whatever they touch in combat tends to bleed out and die.

Also my Hekatrix Bloodbrides. Yeah, they are only S3, but when you areputting over 40 attacks down range at I6, people tend to start crying.

+1 on the gargoyles with toxin and adrenal. When supported by a flyrant with OA and paroxysm, it'll wreck most units short of a full blown nob unit.

I know. I had 10 incubi and archon kill my 10 captains and chapter master. What a day that was... they later died to a combined assault by 3 librarians, casting avenger twice, smite, might of the ancients twice, and using a force weapon. ouch.

Marbo. He never fails me. The amount of mind games I have played with him against my opponents is nothing short of hilarious. They know they can´t avoid him and something expensive and juice is going to get the "treatment". After the "treatment" Marbo invariably eats an obscene amount of firepower ( flamers, bolters lascannons...you name it )and usually has to be carried by medevac to a hospital after the battle. But he just takes it with grim humour and claims it is just a flesh wound and asks how soon he can rejoin the company .

Nob bikers. How quickly people will cry "Cheese" and QQ about how OP they are. When in reality they aren't that hard to deal with.

Use Logan Grimnar.
Take Wolf Guard in PA instead of Grey Hunters. Give them all combi-meltas.
Fun times.

visually and fluffwise? I like my Death Korps Grenadiers the best. Carpace armored Greatcoat troopers? *AWESOME*

In terms of what usually pulls through and delivers consistently? Vendettas and chimelta command squads for obvious reasons. They also look really cool though too

I'm also a fan of my WGF Greatcoat troops since it was my submission to their Liberty and Union League that got them created

From each faction I play:

Immortals: Decent gun, resilient, and they look cool. Guess there isn't much else to say.

Incubi: My favorite model in all of 40k; they rip apart just about anything, and their evil warrior monk fluff is pretty cool

Noise Marines: They like to party, nuff said

Marbo is very good but surely everyone knows he doesn't talk, he doesn't need to i suppose...

My favourite would have to be my pair of scout sentinels with autocannons and hunter killers. Get an astropath and you are pretty sure to get them where they need to be. Then they can snipe tank sides/rears and charge into vulnerable rear infantry targets.

I really like Deathwing Terminators. Proper setup for Terminators (5 man squads) and nicely customisable. Sure there are others that can do this now but I would choose Deathwing every time

A unit of 7 nobs with 3 PKs and 3 BCs with a painboy and some ammo runts and BPs thrown in for wound allocation fun.

For some Tau love, a squad of XV8s with Plasma guns and Missile pods. They tend to do well for me, give them some shield drones and they survive decently, and the fluff idea of them is one of my favorite for the tau, other than the kroot.

The award for 'being hard to kill' goes to...

10 Wraithguard + Warlock, conceal, spiritseer.
Karandras.
Farseer with fortune.

13 model unit.
Majority Toughness 6. (most small arms wounding on 6's)
3+ re-rollable armour save. (89% pass rate)
4+ re-rollable cover in the open. (75% pass rate)
Get within 18" and they can kill anything (pens all vechicle on a 5+, wound anything on a 2+ at AP2)
Can hold out against most units in assault (S5 on the guard, Karandras has a S9 power fist, the lock and seer have witchblades)

Oh, and its a troops choice, so can hold objectives.

Just don't ask about points...

Farseer and Uriel combo.
1) Doom a unit.
2) charge in Uriel.
3) Enemy unit closes around him.
4) Yriel uses Eye of wrath.
5) Remove the enemy unit.

the award for 'best damage to points ratio' goes to

When thinking normally (ie, about points) I'll go for dire avengers.
No-one suspects dire avengers, they can put out a fairly large amount of essentially bolter fire. With guide, doom and bladestorm, thats alot of wounds on most units.
Possible 32 shots from a unit of 10, guided means 28.86 hits, with doom...
Against T3 thats 25.65 wounding hits
Against T4 thats 21.65 wounding hits

And the award for 'best unit' goes to...

A farseer! The amount of force multiplication this guy can pump out is immense, ive already mentioned some of what he can do above...
but heres a few more favorites...
1) Doom a unit and charge in Banshees (those S3 powerweapons are now looking pretty nice)
2) Doom a unit and double flame them with a wraithlord, then charge in with the wraithlord.
3) Guide war walkers (with 2 scatter lasers each, a unit of 3 can pump out 24 shots, but its only BS3, guide ups the accuracy from 50% to 75%)
4) Fortune a unit of warlocks and laugh (fortuned warlocks invun save is statistically better than a storm shield)
I could go on all day... but my hands are getting cold and i need to go turn on my heating =D

My BA Vanguard Vets. Simply because when they get a good Heroic Intervention, it's always fun for me.

My thousand suns unit. Any time i field them they tear up basic units while my defiler can worry about my opponents HS choices instead of the mobs of troops. Nothing beats a 3+ap for a troop choice. Not to mention an invulnerable save!
