I hear a lot of people saying how strong BA or SW army's are.

But in my opinion Vanilla marines can field some pretty scary lists

I was just wondering what was the hardest vanilla marine lists other people had fought was?

i played against a guy twice, he had a captain on a bike, Vulkan, and A LOT of bikes/attack bikes and TH/SS terminators.

Whatever it is, it usually has to have at least one SC (Vulkan and Lysander being pretty tough guys)

Space Marine lists I have versed? Well, this'll be my first one, but here goes.

List of war gear needed for the 8th company, after sustaining losses in a recent battle versus Dark Eldar Xenos:
-Sixteen Ferrox-type bolters.
-Ten helmets, marks eight and older.
-One conversion Beamer.
-Thirteen Land Speeders
-And a ven'rable Land Raider Reedeemer.

I played against a pretty tough one at ARD BOYZ last year, He had 6 Typhoon speeders, 6 Asscan Razorbacks and 3 Vindicators along with Shrike and 10 Assault Termies that tried to assault on Turn 1.

I have seen a similar list at 2000 but with a smaller termie squad, 4 Typhoons and 2 vindies.

Lysander

5 Assault termies in a raider

5 x tac squads with missiles/melta in rhinos

3 MM attack bikes


Have fun in objective missions, thats 10 scoring units to deal with, not to mention the lysander-bomb. Oh and the missile combat squads are in 3+ cover and stubborn....good luck getting rid of them.

Versed does not mean what you think it means.

A correct word to use would be "you have ever [played against, faced]".

I played the 2nd company of ultra marines. That was HARD!
