After experiencing some epic fail during my last game I'd like to hear about yours. Post your memorable moments of monstrous mishaps.


Heres mine.

In my last game, I sent my mega armored boss, with 2 wounds left, to clear a paltry 5 eldar guardians off of an objective. He assaulted and the guardians struck first generating 2 wounds for which I responded with 2 ones.

Deep Strike in an Assault Terminator Squad of 10, they scatter 12"! Into a rhino... Roll on the mishap table, they get put in a corner for the game, they never made it ANYWHERE...

This, only much, MUCH worse!

4000 point game, double FoCs, GKGM and full retinue Deep Striking, mishaps and dies. Not fun I tell you, NOT FUN!

This was more a disaster for my opponent but anyway:

10 Bloodletters arrive about ten inches away from a flyrant with bonsabre and lash whip, get shot down to 4 members by termegaunts.
Next turn the remaining four assualt the Hive Tyrant (which still had full wounds), strike first and butcher the thing.
those four bloodletters ended up netting me 4 killpoints that game with them killing: Flyrant;Carnifex;Lictor and 2 Hive Guard.

My Wolves vs. Sisters of Battle. I multi-charge into an Inquisitor and a group of 5 heavy weapon sisters (No idea what they're actually called). Rolled a total of 6 wounds on the Sisters, hoped to kill one, maybe two. Then he rolled his dice - 1, 1, 2, 2, 1, 5. All of 'em dead.

Deepstriking BA LRC (vs. Tau) bounced off. Rolled a 1 on the mishap table. Gone for good.

A Baneblade failed to wound a Wraithlord AT ALL. It was a 1 on 1 fight too (everything else was either locked in close combat or dead). Needless to say the Wraithlord later punched a new porthole into the Baneblade.

So you rolled 40 attacks. Got 40 1s and 2s and if not that failed every rerollable 4 up to wound. And then he rolled 10 4 ups followed by another set of 10... and then you rolled 10 ones?

He could have been swept and taken no retreat wounds, this would make the numbers more likely.

For me it was probably throwing a demo charge and killing myself and the vendetta i had jumped from.

I had an assault squad with three plasma pistols, and in one turn, they all melted.

well if assaulting into cover termies lack grenades ... so somehow the scouts whooped him bad

Turn 1 Gate of Infinity my 7 man Assault termies + Libby scatter back onto my razorback ... I had to roll a 12 and a 5'oClock to do it ...

Was my only losses of the game

My opponent

Attacks my baneblade with Fugan, misses with all his attacks, then I assault with my dreadnought, he gets two pens, and gets two ones.

I then take fugans last two wounds with the dread. Then consolidate down the board, next turn taking down wraithlord, followed by a squad of guardsman.

My opponents drop pod assault entirely scatters off the board first turn. But they arnt killed, just held back. He got 1 pod down turn 2. They trickled in the rest of the game. Luckily, he had two vindicators and a squad of terminators on the board at the start of the game, or I would have won turn 1.

Zepher - the lash whip meant your bloodletters would have struck after the Tyrant.

Me: Man, I didn't make a single armour save until turn 4!
Friend: Were you playing your IG horde?
Me: Chaos Marines actually...


Worst start to my local tournament. EVER.

*Blinks* Oh dear Ghu! Somebody has actually used this option! I thought I would never see the day . I have been pestering my local BA player mercilessly for months to try it just for once. " Oh, don´t be coy. Try it. Just once. You know you want to..." .

Personal MM ( not DP Mishap though, sorry ). Thematic multi-player battle of DA vs CSM/(traitor)IG. Chaos side has Cypher ( upgraded to 5th standards by house rule ). Cypher is leading a fully kitted IG infantry blob with all the bells and whistles. Everything goes well until the mob has to take a morale check...and fails . The attached commissar sees that the Prophet of Darkness is wavering in his faith and does the only right thing. *BLAM*. Better a dead martyred prophet than have the whole Army of Darkness collapse because of a crisis of faith if they see their Prophet running.

10 Dire Avengers with Exarch line up against 3 Black Templar Initiates, 2 Neophytes. Bladestorm away, kill only three. Charge in (10 v 2 gotta win right?) lose, sweeping advance, lose all 10 to the two guys.

Played a game vs Daemons once. His first DS wave consisted of Fateweaver, a Lord of Change, a Daemon Prince and a Soul Grinder. He had some truly horrific DS attempts, all of which resulted in mishaps:

Fateweaver - Destroyed
Lord of Change - Destroyed
Daemon Prince - Destroyed
Soul Grinder - Misplaced, right at the other end of the board, results in it doing nothing for the whole game.

My worst losses came when mephiston walked through my entire unprepared IG list. After walking through valkyries, hellhounds, chimeras, and leman russ, and over 50 guardsmen, with the help of allied tyranids and their own blood angel units, he was finally put a stop to by a lone executioner, and my teams last standing unit. That executioner previously killed 7 assault terminators and a trygon, Definitely the star unit of the battle.

they could have lost combat and run away, the sargent could have had a power fist, but if they didnt have a sargent, that was a 1 in 63,403,380,965,376 chance. (I think) ONE IN SIXTY THREE TRILLION!

Nah, not thinking that it happened like that.

Sargent had a sword and i charged into cover, whiffed most of my attacks and wounded 1, they made 5 wounds and i failed every save and got swept, it was immensly bad luck.

Playing guard vs Dark Eldar, had kitted my guard to operate similar to the Tanith FAO. 6 squads of vets, 3 snipers per squad. Turn 2, 5 of six squads focus snipers on one squad of DE warriors. 15 shots at 36", rending and 4+ wounding. 12 hit.

No wounds taken. Dammit.
