Im wanting to start a variation of the Emperor's Spears Space Marines Army, here's a picture of a normal Emperor's Spears Marine



Im looking for a way to achieve the light blue quickly and easily so i don't have to spend hours per marine to make them look good, any tips or advice is appreciated

you might look in the spray section of your local DIY store and see if you can find a light blue spray. It'll most likely be a satin, but you can probably kill the gloss with a matte spray. Experiment first.

What you might wanna do.. if you can find an ultra flat white paint like the krylon camo set . get it.. and 'd try using just a blue wash over it and see how that goes.

that's what i was thinking too.... any suggestions on which wash or maybe how many coats of wash i would have to use?

Here are some experiments I did with the Citadel washes. If you look halfway down the article, there is a white primered figure that has simply been washed with the various colors

Below is another figure treated the same way, but was primed grey to start. Either of those might work for you

From what i see on that link it looks like the blue wash would be perfect for what im trying to achieve, my worry is that i want my Emperor's Spears to be and Ice blue, and I'm worried the wash is going to make them too dark, I could probably highlight them with Space Wolves grey and then extreme highlights in 50/50 white and Ice blue.... what do you think about that process??? and any tips for getting the white to shade right on the helmets, backpacks and shoulder pads? should i just paint them grey and work up to white?
