So what's going on here? This list is operating under the assumption that the tournament doesn't allow named characters. That's sadly often the case. I see almost no reason to not include Mephiston in mech BA lists, but in this case not having him around leads to these Blood Angels becoming a highly mobile IG army with BS4, power armour, FNP, psychic hood and free cover saves (both from pregame smoked Baals blocking other tanks, and the Shield of Sanguinius). Please don't tell me I don't need FNP/FC, because I do, and it's dirt cheap and easy to fit in.

You've got Ravagers and Venoms? Devastators are FNP, tanks have cover saves and the 16 krak missiles and 3 laser/plasma combos and 2 twin assault cannons plus 4 heavy bolters say hello to the paper planes. You've got Gaunts or Orks? Okay, 4 fast twin heavy flamers, 12 frag missiles plus the assault cannons and heavy bolters should disperse the crowd a bit after a tank shock or two. You've got tanks? 16 krak missiles, 3 lascannons, 8 meltas and the Blood Lance want to have a talk with you. I don't think BA lists get much more 'all-comers' than this. I'll give it a run next weekend.

Its a pretty good army.
You can deal with threats at all possible distances.
The only downside can be games with KPs.
