The scavenger bonejack haunts the skies above Lord Toruk’s nightmare empire searching for the weak and injured. Swift and merciless, the scavenger descends upon its prey in a flurry of tattered wings and snapping jaws, bringing the final release of death to the enemies of Cryx.

The attendant priest brings the strength of Menoth to mercenaries who choose to receive the deity’s light and truth. Through his earthly vessel, Menoth blesses the weapons of those who do battle in his name, moves aside obstacles in their path, and wards them from the heathen magic of their enemies. Under his watchful gaze, mercs learn to act in concert with Menoth’s legions.

The Pigeon would be better if the wings were twice as long, even with all the holes. Extending them by hand looks like a fun project, actually,

Infinity: Way, way better than 40K and more affordable to boot!

They added wings to one of their launch models. Not really all that impressed this far down the line.

Not very impressed with the Scavenger. The Attendant priest looks ok though.

I thought "Bone Pigeon" was a euphemism for something else entirely...

Good call.

Why can't they reach the levels of model diversity exemplified by the space marines and most of 40K for that matter... [/sarcasm]

That Bone Pigeon actually has a lot of rather different details from the other Bone Chickens, while still fitting in with the overall design ascetics of the faction.

Time for some new glasses for the other guys.

The bone pidgeon is pretty different, yet it fits in with the cryx bonejack aesthetic.

It may look the same if all you can see is the central body portion, but almost everything else has changed. It's jaw is changed, the legs are slender, more bird like, it's got a tail, and oh hey, giant wings.

Not trying to be a hater here but these Warmachine models are just not my thing. I don't like there ascetic I hope you guys that are fans have a good time with them.

I can see that it is a little different, but not radically enough to get excited about it in the slightest. If it is really big, like a jack, that could be interesting, but I doubt it is.

Not sure, same for "Bone Chicken" but I sure as Hell know it is for "Bone Jack"

That's kind of a major design element to PP. A lot of each faction's units and jacks are variants of a single base. Light jacks are generally built off one of two base chassis, same with the heavies. Units within the factions are also like this, with variants on the same base unit being very common.

It's been PP's thing since day one, and there's no hint that it's going to change. I can see not liking PP's style, as it seems people either love it or hate it.

Those wings are terribad. Way too small (but ok, few minis have realistically sized wings) and more importantly, they seem to have been tacked on as an afterthought. They just stick straight out the backside like on a bad Tyranid conversion.

Here's how it's done.

That bone turkey is the worst thing since Hitler, and anyone who buys it should be forcibly sterilized.

The "chicken" looks good to me, but not something I would buy. It comes under "a little silly" in my book.

The priest is great and would be a joy to paint. However it does seem to look like the other models of its army (not very original).

I don't know why it has to be a GW/PP thing. If GW does something unsatisfactory, that's not a free pass for everyone else to do the same. I think it's let down by the wings, the pose or both.

Red_Zeke: It's the whole lover protection thing. PP fanboys have to defend their beloved and so do the GW ones. Even if a model looks like garbage (which I am not saying these particular two do). Pathetic sycophants all around.

On a lighter note, very pretty paint!

I think RZ's right on, though- it doesn't justify one company's failings to point to the other's shortcomings.

I play both systems, but I do think this model could've been much more than it is :-/. Good modelling potential for those who are up for it, though!

Make those wings much longer, less tattered, and maybe it will look like it could at least glide a bit!
