INQUISITOR LORD HECTOR REX AND RETINUE
They will be my first ever forge world purchase, but, i have heard so many claims of bad moulds and awful quality, has anyone bought this model? Have you encountered any problems? Are the casts as detailed as they look?
The model looks awsome and it would be a shame if it was a crap cast, so is it worth £28?

Forgeworld used to be bad but they have gotten better. Also you never hear "My order went through without any problems & I am totally happy" You always hear the bad stories of people complaining. (same with the news). Also if the cast is messed up forgeworld has been good about replacing it. Gone are the days when they say "Well that's the medium you chose".

I've seen two casts of him
One had a bad case of limp sword.
The blade was very rubbery and bent. Repositioning in hot water did nothing as the resin never properly hardened.
His retinue were perfectly cast though.
The other one had obvious miscasts (bubbles in the surface) and the sword was a stump.
FW replaced the second one.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.
That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

Don't worry about bad casts. Forgeworld will gladly express post you a replacement for free.
I recently got my first Forgeworld order, a Heirophant, a Winged Hive Tyrant and some Tyranid Warrior Wings.
The Heirophant was fine, though it has a lot of flash. Mold lines were minimal and no damaged pieces that I could see. The Winged hive Tyrant was the same. It actually arrived from across the ocean intact and then I broke part of the head, but spuerglue fixed it fine.
Out of 6 pairs of Tyranid Warriors wings, the only problem was one wing is warped. When I use them, I'll bend it back, but overall, it the quality was great. However, as usual, YMMV.

Why is the title of this thread in all caps?
Why is the first line of your post the title of the thread?
Forgeworld stuff is usually pretty okay, but there's a decent amount of miscasts out there. Call them about it if that's the case; they take forever to respond via email.

This. I got one last Christmas and I have a mix of both of these. Limp sword (poor guy...) and there are small holes in the tip. There was also a small bubble in the shield. The holes are easily fixed with green stuff but I'm still trying to figure out what to do about the sword. I was going to use a Relic Blade from a SM Command Squad but I don't know if it matches the quality of the rest of the model. Also, yes, his retinue was perfect. Still a very cool model, I've seen some awesome conversions to a power fist or a daemon hammer.
