Subject: Firing Minimum Range?

IG Basilisks have a min-range of 36" and can fire up to 240"...how does this work out in the game? Is it as straight forward as anything within 36" cannot be targeted by the Basilisk? That seems kind of really weak to me because on a normal table your starting 24" away from the opponent. If they deploy at their 12" deployment zone edge and your straight across you already can't fire at them...lol
Am I missing something?

The minimum range only applies if the Basilisk is firing indirectly, if it can draw LOS its can fire directly at targets and ignore the minimum.
EDIT: Although you shoulde be careful about targeting foes too close, you don't want that shot scattering back at you, now do you?

Which is also why you dont deploy directly across from them. Deploy in a corner, near a board edge and suddenly 36" range for Barrage fire (with or without LOS) is not too much of an issue.
