I was thinking how cool it would be to make a 10 man squad of Sergeants and Veteran Sergeants, not an Honour Guard, vanguard or Sternguard squad. I would only use it in Apocalypse games as a Strike force anything goes assault force. All the old 2nd edition sergeants would be awesome, add in some other sergeants it would be nails. 5+ Powerfists, combi bolters, power weapons and storm bolters (I think it would make sense too, if you had a key assault you would make a bespoke assault unit of your best fighters).

On the plus side because the golden rule will be they are not allowed helmets they have a better chance to survive the battle. Everyone knows a Space Marine with a helmet will die even if a Sergeant gets hit.







You could literally mix and match the squad like a BLACK TEMPLARS squad, scout sergeants, termies the works. Thinking about it would be a bit crap like the team from "Predator" or "The Expendables". I'm still going to do it so i can have a pool of sergeants available. Again i would only use this in Apocalypse as a Drop pod assault unit.

Cool idea!! I would recommend using them as WG because of the 2 attack stat line and the diversity of weapon choices. If you are playing Apocalyps though i suppose you could use anything you like.

Hey I like the idea of an All stars team. There are some great old pewter sgt models out there (and obviously other models that would work as sgts). Its like a 'dream team.'

Yup, you guys echo my thoughts entirely. Although the wolf guard does sound like a good idea. I think most people could do this by grabbing their Sergeants out of their tactical squads, devastator squads and all the others into one uber squad.

nice idea! I played a similar game- take a load of sergeants and use them in one squad. work out thier points by getting the cost of the unit (say 5 marines= 90), minusing however many you're not using (4), using the points in the additional members (16 points per additional marine x4=64pts) and the remaining number is the sarge's points (26).
