Howdy everyone! Been collecting a few months now and there is a good group of folks to play with here in the Midland/Odessa area. Love the 40k world, love the ability of expression through your armies and would love to become better at 40k.  (have only a played a few games and.. um.. yeah)
I've been absorbing info through the forums of Dakka... what a great community. I wish I would have started 40k years ago. Ah well, never too late to start.

No doubt. I make it to the DFW area fairly often for friends and family. Don't know if I can break away for most of a day to play though. If I can get my five year old daughter to play that might be a different story. Any recommendations on good game shops to check out?
Oh and Prison love doesn't begin to describe the whoopin' I received at a recent tourney. "Come on out and play, it's just for fun!"

haha, yeah that would be nice. Although ive collected on and off for 10+ years, im just now learning how to play. Needless to say I dont have many games under my belt, but I can paint a mean fig! Hmm, recommendations....I always like going to my local store in Arlington --Lone Star Comics-- friendly atmoshpere, lots of GW stuff. Ive also heard of a place in dallas area called Xmax, this is where alot of gamers congregate, never been though. You could also settle for a GamesWorkshop store inside of the Grapvine Mills mall, just north of the DFW airport.
Im not a local/native to TX so how far away is Odessa?

Odessa is about 4 hours away from Arlington (around 300 miles). Not too far plus it's all interstate.
Thanks for the recommendations. Seems like I've heard of Lone Star Comics before.

Hello! I went a little crazy shopping at the local game store, forgeworld and ebay. I enjoy the collecting aspect too much. For example, it's not enough to have Raptors. Gotta have old models, new models, dark angel conversions with possessed wings and fallen angels with sanguinary guard wings... Slaanesh demands so much.
