I am giving my Hive Tyrant an Adrenal Gland. Unfortunately, the Gland (which was designed for the Carnifex) does not fit on it's back properly, even after filing down the back.

I tried using a Hormagaunt galnd, but it looks silly.

I am a fairly crap sculptor, so what shall I do?

Don't use just one gland from the Hormagaunt sprue. Hang several across its body.

Two options:

1. Rip it off and don't bother about putting it on the model. I don't bother with the little glands and stuff on any of my models.

2. Make your own gland from a blob of putty. It doesn't have to look identical to the GW piece, it just needs to be an obviously different "thing" attached to the Tyrant.

I see. Interesting idea about multiple glands.

And like I say, I'm not too concerned with it looking exactly like the GW Adrenal Gland, It's just that I'm fairly awful at scupting, and I want it to look vaguely like an Adrenal Gland. And I can't just not stick one on as:

A: I have already began to file down the back.

B: WYSIWYG dictates I must show it has a Gland.

I wouldn't worry too much about WYSIWYG. It's only important if you have a potentially confusing situation such as two Hive Tyrants which look identical but only one of them has a gland.

Green Stuff and Brown Stuff are quite good for making good carapace plates. You just need to smooth down the putty with a metal spoon or tool of some kind.

I would not file down the model, but instead file down the gland so it fits. Can you do a picture of it so we can see where you're having trouble getting it to fit?

Perhaps mount the gland on a small ring/collar of GS, then add some simple sculpting texture to the ring/collar while soft?

But as Aduro say, I'd first look at filing/sanding down the back of the gland to fit the model.
