So I ordered some items from GW so I could get my hobby on over X-mas break, the package was scheduled to arrive Monday. It didn't, called UPS 3-4 times before they figured out they had no idea where it went. Not only that, but to open a trace file on it, they said it was pointless to open it unless it was the shipper, so they advised me to call GW.

I did, and the guy was like 'Christ those guys screwed our business hard this month... we had to reclaim a whole bunch of packages from them and then resend Fed-EX'

He was hoping I would be one of them. Unfortunately, I wasn't, and UPS had the package, and it was last sighted in going from Ontario to New Brunswick. Problem is I live 2 hours from Ontario, and 18-22 hours from New Brunswick... so.... ya...

Just thought I'd throw this out there, if any of you have tracking #'s with GW and UPS that havent moved in more than 24 hrs, I'd get on them now if there is any hope of delivery before x-mas!

Wow that sucks, and you know people will be quick to blame GW for it because that's the in thing. Never had UPS screw up a delivery like that though, and on a mass scale, I wonder what happened.

Are you sure it's a UPS delivery?

Because GW doesn't use UPS, as far as I've seen. They use FedEx and USPS.

Well, I called UPS 4 times, the tracking number goes to their webpage where it's tracking info resides, they confirmed they can't find the box and that GW sent it with the correct address and details...

So yes Kan, it was most assuredly UPS

Maybe outside of the US they use other services like Purolator and UPS, or maybe it is something they only do during the holiday rush to scatter their pick-ups.

Weird! I've been using UPS during the holiday season so I can track my package, not wanting to trust the postal service during their Christmas rush... I wonder how they got this so wrong!

At least you can track it on its merry journey around the continent, seemingly...

I can definitely believe UPS dropping the ball.

Although I didn't order anything from GW, I have had UPS make mistakes that have cost me money and, unfortunately, customers this month. UPS has never been this bad for me during the holidays. I think the problem (and correct me if you have any direct knowledge on the subject, this is just my observation) is the seasonal help is just sub-par and not fully trained/prepared for such a heavy workload that the holiday season brings. I don't blame the seasonal workers directly, as they have been very professional, its more so the higher ups that allowed this to happen.

If it was a UPS mistake, make them pay for overnight delivery, thats what I do to make my customers happy when these sort of events happen.

Wish I could, they lost it lol...

GW just sent me another package, the GW rep was convinced this was the fastest way to get it to me, he said he would deal with UPS and charge them on his end.

Based on what he mentioned, things devolved into a clusterfek in the last week or 2, I thought it quite telling he immediately said 'hold on let me check the list of stuff we recalled from ups to send to fed-ex 2 days ago...'

Weird. They've used courier services like DHL whenever I've ordered things from the UK and they keep the USPS out of the loop.

Lol just count yourself lucky you didn't have to deal with this kak bud! I dunno, usually when I have ordered from them before it came via Purolator or CanPost, I know that Purolator is a frequent sub-contractor for most of the big services when they have overflow or spotty coverage.

I don't think I've gotten anything GW from UPS since...well, 2007ish.

It came UPS. I take that to mean that they use it.

UPS parcel have screwed me a bunch of times. Even UPS seafreight are a bunch of clowns.

FedEx are usually on the ball. They deliver on Saturday and they usually deliver packages before lunchtime.
UPS doesn't deliver normal packages on Saturday and they don't deliver to my area until nearly 7 pm, they've suprised me a few times with a 2 pm delivery.
USPS is usually on the ball, too, delivering packages on Saturday and my mail before lunchtime. They can be quicker than either UPS or FedEx.
Living 100 miles from a major hub for all three is an advantage. If tracking shows the package is in Memphis the previous day, I'll get the package the next day except for earlier this month. If I order something from GW in the morning, my mailman has it on my front porch the next day.

FedEx and UPS use a service they claim is faster and more efficient where the package gets to a hub, then they have the USPS pick up the package to deliver it to the customer's home. And that is where they drop the ball. I had a package that I tracked with FedEx to Memphis and it sat there for 3 days before USPS picked it up and delivered it. I guess they wait until they get a trailer load of packages before they send them off based on volume. It was more than a week before I got the package. I could have driven there in a little more than an hour and picked it up.

This is a weird problem. I use UPS all the time and rarely have an issue. This holiday season I've done a ton of shipping for work, and done most of my Xmas shopping online and had it delivered without problem by UPS.

It's strange to see them having issues with one specific shipper. I don't understand why that would happen.

Yup, there are a couple of UPS guys embedded in the distribution hub in Nottingham. UPS are normally on the ball, but talking to some of my friends who work there some of the time things have gotten a little erratic. Mind you, with the best will in the world things are going to go wrong, and the bigger you are the bigger things are gonna go pear shaped.

I hope you guys get your deliveries soon, as I was 2 weeks overdue for my AoW stuff and that was pure pain! Now I have a perfect Chaos Lord
