Hello Dakka!
So a bit of information:
To start off our holiday break a friend of mine has challenged me to a large point game of
40k where we are pretty much playing everything we have (no Apocalypse though).
Since he has more minis than me, I counted how many points I could field and he'll drop down to match.
Also IMPORTANT! This is pretty much every model I own (sans obvious non-wolves like Marneus Calgar) and it is also
WYSIWYG, so while I appreciate 15
ML spam, I simply don't have the minis for it.
Here is what I can field roughly:
So it comes in at a bit over 4000 points.
I can almost guarantee that I will be facing Mephiston, Dante, Several Dreads of all types and Jump infantry, as well as some tanks.
My basic ideas are: Logan + 5 Wolf Guard in the Land Raider as a solid core, pushing forward and crushing Blood Angels, and when I hit the middle lines, assault like a mad man.
Should I switch out a Wolf Guard for Njal? (Can I even do that?) If I can, it would provide the High King with more firepower and a way to handle enemy psykers.
Canis and the
TWC, with the Fenrisian Wolves as a screen will just run up a flank and start to chew (literally) into footsloggers; hopefully make there way into an
HQ or two.
Bjorn and another Dread will stay towards the center of my army screened by footslogger Grey Hunters, that way they can provide cover, backed by Saga of Majesty, heavy firepower, extra assault power, and Russ forbid, an objective.
Swiftclaws (yes, I know they suck, but I bought them before I knew better) will be a distraction at best and the main goal is to rush up to a vehicle or dread and Melta bomb the living hell out of it.
The group of
GH and Rune priest in the Rhino are going to be a mobile Living Lightning platform, moving around and providing bodies and powers where need be.
Scouts will try to get the table edge behind him and rock any units he wants to hide, otherwise snipe and lock units in assault.
And finally two squads of Long Fangs to break enemy armor, and pretty much cause
ID to Mephiston
Well...there it is, my mega list and ideas to make it work.
tl;dr huge game of vampires vs werewolves
So folks, any ideas? Tips, tricks, and general advice for fighting the spawn of Sanguinius?
Are there any adjustments I can make without having to buy new minis or remodel? I can go up to about 4.5k if I want to match his maximum.
(The
TWC and Fen Wolves are obvious exceptions, w00t Chaos Knights and warhounds!)
Any and all help/advice appreciated!
EDIT: Fixed the gear on some units
