Well, I absolutely dislike the Sanguinary Guard models, the pose and also the wings which resemble Ikarus' wings.

Therefore, I plan to buy a box of DC or two and use them to model Sanguinary Guard.

What kind of conversion, modelling or coloring do you suggest such that they do not look like normal Assault Marines?

Why don't you just get Sanguinary Guard models and give them jump packs from the Death Company box? You can then just use the Death Company models for either Death Company or Marines. The Sanguinary Guard models are multipart plastics so you can just pose them however you want.

If you insist on going down the Death Company road - paint them Gold, and give them all power weapons.

Well I think you need to use the sanguinary guard kit, even if you convert the wings. If you use the DC kit you are going to find it hard to have them holding the right equipment.

Well, I dislike those wings. They are made of plumes and are hardly working in opposition to jet/jump packs.

I feel your pain dude, I too think the Sang guard models suck. My solution is some sang guard and death company legs with forgeworld MKIV torsos and these babies for my glaives

Also using the Chapterhouse Studio preheresy jump packs

with GKs around the corner I might need to pick up a few opf those glaives

I personally think the jump-packs are pretty bad ass and they definitely represent the blood ANGELS quite well. I have actually just ordered roughly 25 of them for my BA JP Army to swap out for the regular jps.

Sounds like you can turn a profit in after-market bits trades.

I always liked these wings and think they would make a great conversion for DC to become SG.

Wow very very steep for the price! I was able to get 5 sets of SG for $15.

Other than the wings, what about the San Guard do you dislike?

I think it would be better to buy a box of each (DC and Guard) and bash them together, shave off the details you dont like. I wouldnt recommend using the single thruster engines without the wings, it just looks strange. I know certain successor chapters from the BA paint their DC white. It might be a cool idea to look into for your san guard. It would look pretty cool on the field to see the BA,DC and a white san guard squad. Best of luck

I dont think it looks too weird. its also white ^.^

Painting them white might be an option. Thanks for pointing this out.
But I think I'll give them normal jump packs, as I absolutely dislike the ancient Ikarus style of wings.

Another issue are the glaives. I have no bits which come close to them, maybe some frost blades. Thanks for point to an internet site here.
