With a tournament right around the corner at my local gaming store, I decide to try my hand playing IG in an competitive formate, this is the list I have come up with, and I would be grateful for any feed back on it. A bit of information on the tournament/local meta-game. It is a 1,750 point tournament, and I know there will be Eldar, Orks and Chaos Space Marines among other things.

No real use to the powerfists. Dropping them can get points for a hydra. Dropping all the extra armor could also get a hydra

Not too sure with Psyker Battle Squads in a Vendetta, can they use their powers inside?

And yeah like what kenshin said drop power fists and extra armor and get hydras. They're pretty good at handling light transports and skimmers

The PBS can't use their power in a Vendetta as it has no fire points for them to stick their heads out of.

I don't like powerfists on 5-man squads. I'd swap it and one of the plasmas for a medic. On the Vets a fist may just kill a SM or two, but really if you get into CC your already doomed and spending points to try and mitigate this is points that could have been spent on something else.

Dropping the plethora of extra armour and the fists could get you enough points for a Hydra or two, which will be very useful in filling the gap in your army (you have lots of short-range anti AV13-14, but very little long range anti AV10-12)

oke, if you remove all the power fists and all extra armours, you can get a chimera for you PBS.
you have then 80 points left, and it is wise to take a hydra...
for the 5 points left, you may choose something by youre self.
also give all youre chimera's HHF, you miss some anti-horde, because 3 blasts arent enough at 1750 points.


don't think, you have to know it if you want to be a commander
2010-> IG losses:5, draws: 1, wins: a really lot of wins
2011 IG losses: 2, draws: 1 wins: 32
2012 losses: 8, draws: 0 wins: 15

yup...drop the powerfists...really pointless...not sure about the two empty vendetta's either...personally I think if they can deliver a payload they are better for late game objective grabbing or rear line tank hunting if necessary...otherwise it is relatively cookie-cutter....should do fine...

No one in my area ever runs Hydras or really anything other than Leman Russ for that matter in Heavy Support, So I never really thought to look at them that much, but I will have to give them a try.

As for the power fist, I can see why they are a waste of points. I guess I am just used to talking them from my Space Marine days. I am unsure about dropping all the extra armor it seems like it would really cut down on my mobility a great deal, but once again extra armor has always felt like a must for transports for me not sure why.

Thanks for all the advice, I will get to retooling things and see where I end up.
