I live in Sunderland in the UK and i am wondering if anyone knows of any 40k clubs in this area?????

We're hoping to get something properly in motion come the new year as part of the services we are going to offer from the retail store (The Gamers Outpost). The club will be attached to the shop initially, and if theres enough interest in it, we would hire an external venue due to the limited space that would be available for people actually on the premises.

We seem to be the first GCN (Gaming Club Network) club in the Tyne & Wear area so heres hoping to have some backing towards prizes and competitions from Games Workshop once we get properly established (I think the closest GCN club aside from the actual stores is Redcar or somewhere near Middlesborough as far as independant clubs are concerned, but upon checking the site, it seems that theres a one up in Blyth now as well)

The shop is based in Low Fell in Gateshead, and currently theres no plans to host the club anywhere other than the same area.

As a side discussion... what games do you play, and what armies? Is it only 40k?

I havent played in a few years - but have just got back into the hobby and am running a Blood Angels list.

I would love to pop up and get a game in as there isnt much about where i live.

Well we plan on running the club on a Wednesday night (Tuesday and Thursday are the Games Workshop nights, so we dont see much point running them then, and Friday always seems a bit too close to the weekend, and theres usually commitments on a Monday to take care of)

At the moment its mainly about generating interest prior to the new year and figuring out where to go from there, but the more that show an interest the better.
