Hi there,
Merry christmas everyone! I was painting my Novamarines, and thought I'd try and work on a list for them. Here's what I came up with:
Captain with relic blade, strom shield, bike @ 180pts.
Dreadnought with assault cannon, twin-linked autocannons @ 125pts.
Dreadnought with assault cannon, twin-linked autocannons @ 125pts.
8 Bikers with 2 meltaguns, combi-melta, power fist, attack bike with multimelta @ 320pts.
8 Bikers with 2 meltaguns, combi-melta, power fist, attack bike with multimelta @ 320pts.
5 Scouts with missile launcher @ 85pts.
5 Scouts with missile launcher @ 85pts.
Land Speeder with typhoon missile launcher @ 90pts.
Land Speeder with typhoon missile launcher @ 90pts.
Land Speeder with typhoon missile launcher @ 90pts.
Predator with lascannon sponsons @ 120pts.
Predator with lascannon sponsons @ 120pts.
Total @ 1750pts.

Some may not like the PF in the bikes but you dont have anywhere else for your commander to join. Also pehaps swap a combi melta for hellfire rounds for the captain. Maybe switch scouts for one tactical squad

Which do you guys think would be better: asscan+tl-autocans or 2x tl-autocans on the dreads? Riflemen dreads can hide behind the preds for coversaves, but if I'm intending to advance with the dreads the assault cannon is nice.

6th Company? Shouldn't it just be Tactical squads?

Also littlenibbler Orks aren't about armour saves.
Orks are about having too many models on the table, and wasting the other guy's time with your movement phase.
Orks are about having the toughest units on the table.
Orks are about not caring about how many bodies are left in a long winding trail until the squad is down to less than a third its starting strength.
Orks are about rolling more dice then you can count without the aid of a calculator or a pen and paper.
Orks are about having totally fething insane characters tearing gak down like Doc Grotsnik, Ghazghkull or Snikrot.
Orks are about being too fething awesome to die...

My fluff isn't perfect, but isn't the 6th company a reserve company which is trained to fight on bikes  Can't be bothered to check the book, but I think that's why I named them the 6th company.

They're a Tactical Reserve Company, they either replace whole squads in a cycle on, cycle off basis or support as Bike Auxiliaries.

And the Novamarines are a chapter that hasn't fought in a concentrated force for thousands of years, so IMO it would be fully natural that the 6th company turned more into a sort of battle company, using their bike training to its fullest potential, but that's just me.
Any comments on the list?

The codex just says they haven't fought unified for a couple of thousand years, it doesn't say why.... I would imagine lack of co-ordination.

If your dice fail to stop an assault lists mobility (i.e. Land Raiders, Rhinos, Trukks, etc) in a first couple turns of shooting your done. You only have two units which are only speed bumps to slow someone down. Scouts make good scoring units but they need something to protect them from getting assaulted you can't afford to help them. This is one of the list that either dominate (i.e. hot dice) or fail miserably.

Your list is having a identity crisis. Space Marine bikers I have seen that work are focused on speed. Couple full squads of bikes supported by more attack bikes and speeders.
