Recently received a box of 5 Sanguinary Guard, and am looking for advice on how to equip these nipple-armoured warriors of golden-ness.
My own personal thoughts revolved around a Chapter Banner, a Powerfist, and 1, maybe 2 Infernus pistols, with death masks all round (This last addition would be added only when facing low-leadership armies, ie, Tau, Trukk Orks, etc.).
Any help would be greatly appreciated as always

Hehe. If you have dante in the squad then take 5 infurnus pistols. The moment they land the best tank dies.

Pistols = extra attack + dead tanks. Chapter banner is not bad. Masks won't help against anything you wouldn't kill anyways.

If you're taking Dante, don;t bother giving them Death Masks. He has one, which works when the whole squad assaults if he is with them.

As always I'd keep the upgrades to a minimum. I'll go with one powerfist in my DoA army, nothing more.

I am liking the all-Infernus pistol set-up + Dante, however I can see this getting rather pricey rather quickly, and I'm not *really* looking for this unit to become a Death Star.

To hell with it, I'll compromise and go with 3 Infernus Pistols

Dante has one as well remember, so you effectively have 4 melta shots on the turn you arrive which should give you at least two damage results and because they are melta on average thats 1 destroyed result against any vehicle in the game (Monolith and Blessed Hulls aside). More than 5 BS4 melta shots tend to be overkill, 4 (+ Dante) would be nice to give you a bit more security but thats obviously getting pricey and I would rather add a Power Fist to the unit to give you some extra punch in combat first.

I don't think you ever get an extra attack with the Sang Guard as their Glaives count as 2H power weapons. Whilst I *love* the models and ideas behind the Sang Guard I just don't think they're that killy for what they bring to the table (they really need WS/BS5 and maybe boost their S to 5 due to the Glaives).

That being said, I like the Chapter Banner + 2 x inferus pistols and maybe a power fist if you forsee yourself facing lots of Dreads. You don't really need 5 x infernus as 2 tends to guarantee at the very least one hit against the vehicle.

Sanguinary Guard + Sanguinor in a DoA army would be pretty damn nasty, especially when you consider they grant +2A to every unit within 6".
