ok as the title says i have a question. so why does the inquisition have what are basically its own space marine force when they can just borrow IG regiments and space marine chapters? im just abit confused

Try reposting this in the '40k background' bit. All the experts lurk there and you will get WAY more replies. To answer i would say it is a question of experience/specialism/loyalty. Can you name any chapters that are near exclusively good at fighting daemons, heretics or aliens?

2 things.

1 the Grey Knights have a perfect record of having no one turn to chaos. All of them are pyskers and have trained most of their lives to end deamons.

2. The Inquisition doesn't have basically it's own chapter the Ordo Malleus does. Hereticus and Xenos can't use the GKs. (Hereticus can call on SoBs and Xenos on the Deathwatch anyhoo)
