Since I have enough of trying to paint yellow, I was trying to get a new chapter on the run that was not difficult to paint (I am lazy I admit that... but with othe 10k points of miniatures...) and perhaps DIY.

So I tried up a bit and I liked this scheme idea, what you think about it ?

Basically it's Hawk Turquoise with trimming in Mithril Silver.

Tactical Marine

Veteran Marine

Assault Marine (maybe, could be modified or erased)

Devastator Marine (maybe, could be modified or erased)

Chapter Name : Silver Fists
Founding : TBA
Geneseed : Imperial Fists
Heraldry : Turquoise with silver trimmings. Banner/Symbol is a left handed fist closed and raised colored in silver.
Chapter Master : Diederich Silber
Motto : Progress is everything, fidelty is eternal (could be modified)

The chapter is a founding from the Imperial Fists, I want to keep the feeling they have like the Crimson Fists for example.

I've bought my last models from GW on October 10th, 2011. Since then I've bought none, I am against their price policy. Screw them.

I was wondering something about regal blue as basecoat and then going with the turquoise and then highlighting or with grey or with hawks+skull white as you say.

Could do, I tend to use the foundation paints as basecoats where possible but no reason why standards can't be used, I mean we managed in the years before foundations

yep that's right!

Also I'm wondering about the veterans, how to paint them up.

I came up with two ideas, one using Mithril Silver for the helmet, and one with Burnished Gold.

Both are nice on the PC but I wonder how will be on the real miniature.

At last! Someone else using hawk turquoise for their marines, welcome brother. I've used gold on the trim for some of my commanders and it really stands out. I've thought about silver but figured that it would not be as prominent in terms of effect. As for basecoats; I've found that 2 or 3 coats of HT was enough to give a good even coating.

I've added a couple of images, plus some background.

I was wondering that the Assault Marines could have the burnished gold helmets, while the Devastators the Ice Blue.

I like the silver helmet especially if you can get it to a mirror-like finish. I think that would look great. Overall I like the colour scheme.

that... is a problem. I'm not a good painter, so I don't know if I'll be able to do what you've written unfortunatly :(
