Somewhere in the steamy jungles of the south...

Hello,

I am really having trouble getting a nice metallic effect on the blade of an Empire generals greatsword. I have tried using a combination of Mithril Silver, Boltgun Metal, and washes, but they are not working. Normally, for the infantry I just do a basecoat/wash/ drybrush of the same color, but I have to do a higher quality style on the General. Any tips? I am at a total loss.

Thanks!

_Tim?

No, though I could try. Do you know of any good tutorials?

The main trick used for metallics (including NMM) is reversing the highlight direction for the smooth highlight (so it goes from nearly black where the light hits to mithril silver away from the light) and then put a hard highlight where the light actually hits.
