Okay... I am not sure if this would go in tactics or army lists... but I need help making an army list so I will assume this is the correct place.
Okay. I have NEVER played Fantasy before. my friends are forcing me to play a few games to see how I like it. I have 40K chaos daemons models, and i am allowed to proxy them to any unit I want. 1000 points is my limit... and I want to make a tzeentch themed army. Tzeentch is just to cool to not pass up.
How would I go about making this. What units are recommended. I have recently learned that my favorite models, the lord of change and the oracle, can not be used at this few points (gah!) so what HQ... leader i guess would I want to take. What would be a good core. I will be up against vampire counts... any help would be appreciated as I am mid reading the rule and will continue to read them as I finish reading this.
(I heard that daemons where nerfed in 8th edition? I also heard that khorn armies are the scariest... but I prefer using tzeentch)

Hero
Herald of Tzeentch
- Flaming chariot
- Staff of Change
- Spell Breaker
= 250 (25%)
Core
10 Pink Horrors
- Changling
= 180 (18%)
10 Pink Horrors
= 120 (12%)
11 Pink Horrors
=132 (13.2%)
11 Pink Horrors
=132 (13.2%)
Rare
5 Flamers of Tzeentch
= 175 (17.5%)
Total: 989 points.
What do you guys think? Lots of small units to give more changing to my sorcerers... In terms of a noobs list... is it usable?

i think there is too much fodder more bigger hitting things less disposable units
Not sure how you plan on using the list but it is workable if you are going for a meat shield swarm tactics

This is all going off of memory, so hold on tight:
Heroes...(250)- protect your herald as best you can, and put him in a unit of horrors to get that 4+ Ward working for you.
31 Horrors + champion + standard + (cool magic standard) (421...I think)- Since you can only cast each spell from a lore once, having lots of low-level wizards isn't going to be that useful. At this few points, you can't really afford two decent sized units, so I'd just go for the gusto on this one.
5 Furies (60)- something to distract your opponent, go after war machines, etc. And hey, S4. That's not bad.
4 Screamers (120...?)- Fragile little buggers, but 4 auto S5 hits, possibly on more than one unit, could help. And your opponent will probably be distracted by the other, more obvious threats to deal with this one. Or they'll target these guys, and save your other, more obvious threats from a volley or two.
4 Flamers (140)- They're good. How good? Very.

Hmm. True. Dropping a Flamer and maybe making the Herald cheaper (or dropping the Champion) would do that in the above list.
A level 4 and a level 2 at 1000pts is actually quite terrifying. You'll basically fall over against a determined assault, but you'll have amazing potential. And really, I don't think anyone would complain about it all that much if you ran said list. All-Tzeentch is essentially a handicap, so this is basically just making up for it.

Horrific Horror
|
Herald of Tzeentch
Master of Socery pcik a lore from the 8
Winged horror
150 Points that can fly out of range of your opponent if you needit and has all the spells from 1 lore. If they are close to a similar sized unit (any core in daemons) they get a look out sir. If they are in with Pink horrors then the horrors get 4+ward
Flamers are good.
But one unit of High Elf Dragon Princes and you have to kill them with magic (non flaming) only As nothing in you army can hit them in HTH or CC.
Putting a group of 20 Horrors together also gets you a bubble spell to hit multiple enemy units.

Question. Why put winged horror on the HoT if for the same price you can give it a disk?

Hi Wisdomeyes1, I am also a mono-Tzeentch player and I wish you luck.
For advice:
Your hero is not getting full benefit for his locus, he is better sharing his 4+ with the unit.
Also while the flying chariot is a great model, especially against Vampire Counts, it would be better on a second herald and not your general. Also keep in mind that chariots cannot march, so that awsome fly movement is reduced to 10" in many cases in 8th edition.
For your general I would definitely suggest either Master of Sorcery (Life) or power vortex (+1 power dice). I usually take MoS (life) with spell breaker. I like life for the healing, and also with all the spells known, you get the all important "Dwellers Below". I have had some fun with lore of Beasts however, S4 T4 horrors really annoys your opponent (especially with the 4+ ward).
For your core, you should put them all together in one big unit. It denies points, adds ranks and increases magical power. Lore of Tzeentch really hurts people as they come to fight you, and with the icon you add +5 to your casting rolls. Hells yeah! With you Life Herald in the unit granting a 4+ ward and regenerating your lost models, you are set.
Also you want to add the Changeling, he will keep the enemies' vampire or wight king from killing all of your wonderful horrors. He is a must in a high magic/ low fighty list.
I love flamers as much as I hate their name! however do not make the mistake of thinking they can bang with your opponent's ranked units. keep them to the flanks and shoot any cavalry or flyers he may bring.
Mono-tzeentch is really, really powerful at low points. May the winds of magic roll high for you and good luck!
