Not a bad thought.

I look forward to trying this out!

The top 3 vanilla librarian powers before the de codex came out were:

#1Nullzone

#2Nullzone, no other power is even close.

#3Nullzone, seriously what other purpose does a vanilla librarian serve besides nullzone and a psychic hood.

Chaos isn’t a pit. Chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail, and never get to try again. The fall breaks them. And some are given a chance to climb, but refuse. They cling to the realm, or love, or the gods…illusions. Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is, but they’ll never know this. Not until it’s too late.

I actually quite like the Vortex of Doom on a Terminator Librarian but that is a very distant second place.

Null Zone is, as much as I hate to admit it, perhaps a little too good.

feel it would be a bit OP if it lasted more than 1 player turn

Good point.

That does tone it down a bit.

I honestly don't know why people don't just auto include a nullzone librarian when making lists. I know I do. 100 pts + whatever gear and you get defense against psychers and the ability to put the screws into difficult units. Beat stick characters aren't that great, utility is better.

Well, NZ only works in a range of 24''.
Venoms have built-in flickerfields while Raiders and Ravagers have not.
A DE army which spends points for flickerfield upgrades for Raiders and Ravagers is highly welcome as it eventually wastes a lot of points.

It isn't really a waste. I've run the numbers on it and it makes the vehicles much more survivable, in fact the same numbers as if you were turbo boosting with them. Against S9+ weapon a FF raider is more durable than a rhino, and against S8, it is pretty close to even IIRC.

Even if you pay for it 6+ times, the points don't really hurt all that much since it makes your vehicles much more survivable. More turns of using your raiders/ravagers is better than the 1 more you might be able afford.

Never ran the numbers. But if you say so, then flickerfields should be a must-have in an environment with lascannons.
But I guess Raiders go down with ease against heavy bolters or autocannons.

Nullzone
Gate
Avenger

Those are the only powers I ever use. All are super useful, but I have to say, Gate is my favorite. I have a list built around squads of 10 termies gating around with a libby and it is good fun.

@OP
That is a good utility for Nullzone that I had not thought of. Nullzone would work on Bjorn, too.

Thanks for pointing that out!

volume of S 5-7 fire is how you take down raiders, so you are correct. Chimeras and dakka preds are particularly good against raiders.
