I am having trouble applying the chapter patches to the shoulder pads on a regular space marine. I can never get them on smooth. I did have success applying them to the larger surface area of a terminator shoulder pad. I have read that certain gloss or other hoppy supplies will help but iam not sure. Also are these tranfers the best practice for applying the chapters markings? On GM website there are the chapter specific shoulder pads and i also tried to make a stencil but did not work to well. Any suggestions? Thanks guys and gals.

To get a flat decal to conform to a curved surface (and especially a compound curve) you will get best results with a decal softener solution (followed by the matching decal setting agent). Micro-Sol and Micro-Set are a good set, so are the Solvaset range.

You also would get a better result by hand painting (for pauldrons) the surface (to get the decal) with some GLOSS varnish first.
