Hey guys. Long time reader here, haven't posted much as you can see, but I recently finished the framework to my Voidraven Bomber and wanted to know what the good people of DakkaDakka thought. I'm aware it still looks a little too craft world Eldary, but that should change with a healthy application of spikes and dark paint. Apologies for the poor picture quality in advanced.

Picture 1: Gives an idea of the scale. Has a massive wingspan, but is comparable in area to a Wave Serpent.

Picture 2: The Void mine as it is stored and an underside picture of the flyer.

Picture 3: The Void mine as it is ready to fire (bit of fluff, no real meaning on the game table). Not pictured, but the mine is removable and re-attachable.

Picture 4: The gunners cockpit. Not much more needs to be said. Not sure if you can see him in there or not, but he's there!

Any critiques, criticisms, suggestions, complaints etc. are welcome and appreciated! I'll try and get some better pictures in the next day or so.

I love it man I really do. With that said the wings are so long I think you might have troubles on the table top. As someone that made a stormraven You ave to be careful when they are on the table edge that people walking by don't have the folds of there shirts and latch on to it and whip it off the table and on to the floor.

I hadn't even thought of that! Sounds like the stuff of nightmares, though I can totally see it happening... I even know who would probably be the one to do it. Thanks for pointing that out! I'll have to be careful.

Sorry this took so long to update. I'll spare you the RL stories and get down to the model.

Showing the WiP model off to the people at the various hobby shops and such, I noticed there were a few general criticisms:
1) It wasn't spiky enough towards the rear.
2) The weapons (in regards to their placement) were a little goofy.'
3) Not enough engines, especially intakes. Also the engines I did have were too bulky.
4) Not enough mass.

Number 4 was far and away the most common complaint I heard, and I agree, so I fixed it! I think.

C&C would be greatly appreciated! Archon added in for scale.

Things to come!

- Spikes on the LEFT side!
- Green Stuff!
- Missiles and Void Mine (The old one didn't work out as well as I had liked)

Also something else I would like input on. In regards to the base, I was thinking of using a Valkyrie sized base, with the rhino from the terrain piece linked below. The Void Raven would be flying past its smoking wreckage.

I think I would have to paint it in Blood Angels colors as to say "So you think you're fast, eh?". It only seems appropriate. Would this be too goofy? Look too silly? Incite too much anger? Thoughts please!

Fantastic conversion! i'm loving all the new DE stuff that people are doing! just goes to show the power of plastic kits! So much easier to work with and provide so much more oppertunities for bashing! Keep up the fantastic work and cant wait to see it finished!! ^_^

The front looks a bit weird at the moment with the two jetbikes just attached at each other, but the rest is great!

Fabulous little plane, I am still plucking up the courage to buy the stuff I need to do something similar, but I will probably wreck it and leave it worthless, so I probably wont
One minor piece of critisim, it might just be the photos but the bit where the jetbike at the front (I think its a jetbike) meets the main back hull looks a little iffy, but that might just be the black undercoat remaining from the main hull after you borrowed it to make this voidraven

Thanks for all the compliments and feedback! It is more appreciated than you know.

Winnertakesall - It is indeed a jetbike, and it does indeed look a little clunky as it stands. You are 100% right. I'm going to be doing a lot of work to make the front portion of the plane fit in with the rear portion (the cockpit, wings, engines, etc.) which will include stream lining the transition from the gunner cockpit (which is the front part that look like a bunch of jetbikes stuck together) to the pilots cockpit.

Slushosaur - I'm assuming you're talking about the very nose of the ship, with the two jetbike covers upside down and rightside up. I can see what you're talking about, and the only reason I agree with you is because it makes it look lioke the plane has two completely different aesthetics (which is no surprise giving the amount of bits from both the Eldar and Dark Eldar ranges are included in it). Hopefully when I finish what I was talking about above it will fix this. Also making that back look a little more Dark Eldar-y will probably help balancing it out. (Also a nice, dark coat of paint won't hurt either )

More, better pictures to come soon. Once I get some work done one it, of course.

An update as to some of the work I've done on it. Hopefully these pictures are a bit better.

Changes: The underside has seen significant changes, including the removal of that ugly piece of plasticard, the Void Lances, and the missile bays, which may not be visible in the pictures, but they are under the Void Lances. The front end is not so much of a wreck anymore, more spikes, the strange bowing present before is fixed, and the engines have gotten a good bit of love. There are probably a few things I'm forgetting.... but oh well.

Please leave any comments or criticisms you may have here! They are appreciated more than you know.

Nice! As i was reading down the thread I was thinking the Vyper canopy would be the direction I'd go rather than two jetbikes mashed together. Looking quite nice!

I'm particularly impressed with the wings.

Mannahnin - I was trying to avoid using the Vyper canopy as every DE player and their grandmother seemed to be using it in their conversions (with the exception of those Batwing cheaters)... but I guess there's a reason for it.

winnertakesall - Indeed. It was much more of a pain in the rear than had anticipated, as I had to remove several essential pieces to get the angle right without making it look like it was bending the other direction. As a result I had to sacrifice some durability, but the pins should still hold regardless.
