This force relies on overwhelming force to achieve victory; there are no scoring units that can claim battlefield objectives, and its numbers are too few to consider protracted firefights with numerically superior enemies. Instead, the army must achieve the Wipeout! rule on page 90 of the Warhammer 40,000 rulebook - if the enemy has no units left on the table at the end of the game, you win regardless of victory conditions.

Astorath, Lemartes and the Chaplain are all attached to Death Company squads, their Liturgies of Blood rule allowing their fearless compatriots to re-roll both failed rolls to hit and to wound on the turn they launch an assault. The Death Company themselves already benefit from the Feel No Pain and Furious Charge rules, but the Blood Chalice and Red Grail of the Sanguinary Priest and Brother Corbulo extend these benefits not only to themselves but the two Chaplains that accompany the force.

The number of Death Company models in this army means the final two Troops choices can be filled by Death Company Dreadnoughts, one armed with blood fists to help overcome any heavily armoured targets, the other equipped with blood talons to scythe through huge numbers of enemy combatants.

Knowing that victory can only come from the utter destruction of every enemy model on the table is quite liberating!

not bad a list..but you will need transports. no matter how badass Death Companies may be. With jump packs it's only gonna be 12", and 18" at best when charging.

if you are gonna be going against mech heavy players like IG and DE..you are gonna be hard pressed to try to get into CC. Just my humble opinions. =)

Well for starters Tycho and Corbulo cant have a JP, and I don't think you really need Astorath in the list. Your entire army already gets FnP and FC so his special power is pointless. Dropping Tycho and Corbulo due to the mobility issue and Astorath gives you 500 points to work with.

For your HQ I would suggest a Reclusiarch with a JP for 155 points. Then for the remainder I would beef your DC squads up to 9 members each for 300 points. This leaves you with 45 points so I would use them to add a few PW to the DC squads.

Er... Astorath removes the 0-1 Death Company Limit so you'll have to keep him if you'd want a DC army...

Yeah.. ditch Corbulo and also the Sanguinary priest... DC hac FNP and furious charge.. better another chaplain..

Why not 3 chaplain and a reclusiarch on 4 DC squads? haha would love to see how this goes..

Wait, isn't this list 100% copied from the GW BA army list site (or at least the bit of fluff at the end)? I only know because i briefly considered the same list.

Woops, you're right about jump packs on Tycho & Corbulo, so I'll replace 2 units of 5 DC with jp with -

Death Company: 7 Death Company with boltguns, chainswords, frag and krak grenades. Dedicated Transport: Rhino with storm bolter, smoke launchers and searchlight

Death Company: 1 Death Company with power fist and bolt pistol. 1 Death Company with power weapon and bolt pistol. 5 Death Company with chainswords and boltguns.
All have frag and krak grenades. Dedicated Transport: Rhino with storm bolter and smoke launchers

However, I need Grim to lift the 0-1 DC restriction to make an all DC army....

Now I have 35 models ttl.....

Yes, but I tweaked it a tad, but now I am back to nearly GWs suggestions...

I never have had much success with Tycho, so I don't really use him.

You should drop him andthe priests and all the JPs and get 2 stormravens and 2 las/plas razorbacks, with astorath or a chaplain with each squad. Attach your dreads to the ravens and cut some special weapons if you need to.

Like this:

Stormraven
-DC and DC Dread + Astorath

Stormraven
-DC and DC Dread + Chaplain

Razor
-DC + Chaplain

Razor
-DC + Chaplain

Use extra points for PFs and melta bombs
