Hey im kinda new to dakka dakka, and as my most recent attempt i wanted to make a GDI themed imperial guard.

i have most of the major conversons down pact (wolverene, mammoth tank)

but one is illuding me.

pretty much i want to take the IG valkrye and convert it into a more orca fighter(tiberian wars) looking craft but cant quite seem to figure out how to make the craft thinner (the main body)

any help would be great!

you may be able to do it with a razor saw but it wold have to be very precise. An orca is supposed to be tiny and there would be the risk the valk cockpit would just be too big. You could make it a one seat ship with some work though. there's a picture of it online from the original game where it is being launched out the back of an 18 wheeler truck. edit:

Here is my take on the orca, using the turbo fans of a gi joe six sigma dragonhawk

The USS Orinoco was a Federation Danube-class runabout that was in service with Starfleet in the late 24th century, attached to Deep Space 9. It was outfitted with a sensor pod.

Using this picture as a reference, I'd leave out the body altogether, stick the two tail booms together and graft them straight to the cockpit.

You need to construct a smaller main body piece that matches the cockpit width from plasticard or something.

Then mount the wings and tail booms to it. Engines can be mounted under the wings or on the side of the hulls under the wings.

That would be like a Vulture gunship variation.

The Orca from the original post IS more like a vulture than a valkyrie (including the smaller cockpit).

Orcas from C&C have always been GUNSHIPS first. I don't think I ever saw a single one in that game that wasn't JUST A GUNSHIP.

If you want to change that model to look more like a dedicated non-transport gunship from a computer game, then some things HAVE to be changed. It's like wanting a Blackhawk to pass as a SuperCobra. One is a Utility helicopter (transport with some offensive capacity), the other is a dedicated ATTACK (gunship) eggbeater with NO transport capacity.

There are a couple of variations, the chinook was replaced with a four enginer orca style transport as the games went into the future, but you are correct, gunship first. Personally I used the valk without modifying the frame because I wanted transports for IG (that beardy stormtrooper formation for apocalypse actually). Missing from my picture is a forgeworld punisher cannon mounted under the nose.

Hmmm fox yours reminds me of the planes from the movie avatar but it is close to the orka.
would it be possible to dremmel the sides of the valk then greenstuff over to make it match the "metal" plates?
