This is a continuation of a post that RiTides and myself have going on over at the Privateer Press forums.

My new friend RiTides posted a thread here that caught my eye. I really loved the ambition of having 100 points of Trollbloods stuff done before February 1st. I will be a bit handicapped, my second daughter will be born any day now (December 15th) but I know I can do it!

I'm going for a very shooty list. Here is what I've got off the top of my head, I'll add on/change it later:

Full unit Fennblades
Dire Troll Bomber
Dire Troll Bomber
Dire Troll Blitzer
Dire Troll Blitzer
Trollkin Scouts
Impaler
Impaler
Impaler
Impaler
Axer
Axer
Gunny
Fell Caller Hero
Fell Caller Hero
Full Unit Pyg Burrowers
Full Unit Scattergunners
pDoomy
pMadrak
Grissel Bloodsong
Borka Kegslayer
Grim Angus
Troll Champion Hero
Thumper
Full Stone Scribe Unit
Stone Scribe Elder
Dire Troll Mauler

So I guess I should start this off with an obligatory picture of my work area. We are still redoing the basement, so I'm temporarily working in my 'to be born any minute now' daughters room.

I've gotten a few things in trade that are painted, they will be stripped. Other than that, everything is now built and some of it even primed! I think I'm going to try for speed on this project, as I'm really going to be busy with a newborn soon. So, we're off it's time to get this started

Here is a group shot, some items aren't pictured as I was working on them and just finished:

Hopefully I'll be back later tonite with some paint in progress!

All right, I'm tired but got some work done tonite. It's a passing tabletop standard. I really wanted to get some nice earthy tones for the skin, which I think I've gotten while keeping the paint scheme super easy. I think the Blitzer needs another layer, but I'll get to that later. I also should highlight the...bumps on their skin, add some more color (notably the scarf/headgear on the Pyg and piece on the back of the Fell Caller) but again I'll get to it later I'm going to power through everything to make it an acceptable tabletop standard first.

More pics? I just got some more done...ish. I had forgotten I needed to hand prime half of the stuff, so I did that. I also quick weathered and speed base coated some scouts. One is in progress for a test scheme, but really needs a bit more attention before I call it tabletop.

I have a bunch of casters in my 'To Paint' group, and I just didn't count their points at all. Grimm, Madrak, Doomy, Grissel, Borka....I think I could go way over 100 pretty easily, and I still haven't gotten all my trade stuff in yet.

When I was reading through the book, Calandra caught my eye and not just for her bikini top. She looks like a really fun caster, and I'm going to add her to my list of needs. I had another fun list idea, and that would be all Runeshaper list.

Finished Hand Priming:

Unit of Scouts Paint in Progress:

I'm hoping to finish the unit tonite, but that depends on whether my daughter is born which can happen at any second. Today's the official due date in fact

Hahah

It's just a quick wash I made out of Amaranth Red from Valejo and some water mixed in. I don't have a recipe, I just mix it until it's about the consistency of skim milk I normally use Vermin Brown, but I wanted to try something new.

I got the trade stuff in! A bunch of Scattergunners, the Warpack, a Winter Troll and a couple other items. I also got some Skorne stuff as well, but I have no interest in playing them and will sell them to a friend to help support my Trollbloods habit

Alright I'm back from the hospital and got a few more scouts done. I'm hoping to have the unit finished tomorrow:

Automatically Appended Next Post:
As promised, I snapped off a quick pic via my phone of what I have done so far. Again it's speed work, and I'm going to bring it up to a much higher level later. Green Simmons isn't based yet, I have an idea for him that I just haven't had time for yet. I'm happy that I have almost everything I need done to a tabletop standard for a tournament next week. That should be interesting, given the amount of games I've played....which is 2.

What I'm going to play is:

Gunny
Impaler
Bomber
Blitzer
Green Simmons (Swamp Troll)
Fell Caller

Which brings me to 28/30 points. I'm hoping to be able to get and paint some Whelps in the meantime. In the 2 games I played at 15 points, having Gunny with the Blitzer and Bomber was absolutely brutal. The Fell Caller just kinda hung out and blocked charge lanes, he didn't need to do anything else.

"Orkses never lost a battle. If we win we win, if we die we die fighting so it don't count. If we runs for it we don't die neither, cos we can come back for annuver go, see!"

I dig how in a setting where giant, muscled fungus men ride Mad Max cars and use their own teeth as currency, the concept of little engineering dudes with beards was considered a step too far down the aisle of silliness.

So I haven't been slacking off, I recently finished up a Thumper Crew. While my paint jobs on these are very basic and I haven't reached 100 points yet, I'm pretty proud for what I've accomplished so far. I played in a tournament Saturday with a fully painted force, my 3rd 4th and 5th games, and didn't finish last!

Here is the Thumper Crew, and a bunch of stuff I can pick from to paint next. Unfortunately it's really cold here (Massachusetts) so the can primer didn't do very well, and i had to finish by hand:

Privateer press, so cool, and yet so expensive :(

Regardless, loving the progress, very snazzy!

Thanks, I'm painting them as fast as I can...but I always get hung up with all the details. I have to snap myself out of it Or, I'll just chug along like I am, and have them slightly better than tabletop with intention to bring them to a high tabletop standard. I'm really happen I've gotten so much done so far.

I'm still 53 points away, but I'm thankful I have Mulg

I got more done last night! Mulg and Janissa are done to a nice tabletop standard. I did repaint parts of Janissa quick, her original skin tone really bothered me and honestly still does. But Mulg I'm very happy with, and I don't plan on doing much besides adding some layers and highlights to his club and tartan, painting the pattern on the tartan, and some source lighting effects on the runes.

Wow...

Dang I do like these Privateer press miniatures, they're very swanky.

Maybe if you hilighted Janissa's skin a bit, it might improve the look?

Mulg is very perdy, and I look forward to some tartan and source lighting!

Oh yeah, I'll definitely be doing that for sure! Just getting the speed painting rocked out now, so I can show up to game night and actually put painted models down. I love being able to do that, I played in a tournament last weekend and everything was painted. It was a good feeling.
