Whenever I try to give my oponent the attack of the biomorps I always end up dead. The revenge of the mech always gets me (my main oponent is a SM mech player.) After reading a lott of tyranids tacica online I have found a new hope. The Hivemind (of the internet) strikes back, so to say. So with no further ado I give you the return of the Jedi...err...I mean Tyranids.
1750:
1 x Hive Tyrant, lash whip bonesword, Twinliked devoveres with brainleech worm, Paroxysem, Leech Essence :185
2 x Tyrant Guard : 120
2 x Hive Guards : 100
2 x Hive Guards : 100
2 x Hive Guards : 100
1 x Tervigon, Adrenald Glans, Toxic Sacks, Catalyst, Cluster Spines : 195
21 x Termagants, Fleshborer : 105
8 x Genestealers : 112
8 x Genestealers : 112
10 x Termagants, Feshborer : 50
15 x Gragoyles, Adrenalin Glands : 105
1 x Trygon : 200
1 x Tyranofex, Rupture Cannon, Desicator Larva, Cluster Spines : 265
---------
= 1749
It has 4 units to deal with mech from a distace, including one that can threaten a landraider (never leave home withouth one.)
It has 4 units to lay preshure early on (Gargoyles, Genestealers and the Trygon)
It has 3 realy nasty threaths (Trygon, Hive Tyrant Unit, Tyranofex)
The only 2 things that are bothering me is the very lack of synapse (only 2 synapse units) and the fact that I wish I could bring more threats to the table. I can trade the hive tyrant, tyrants guards + 1 genestealer unit out for a non troop trevigon, 3 gargoyles and a Trygon. Although I do think the hive tyrant is more of a threath in the long runn. Any advice will be apreciated as the light of the emperor keeps beating my hive mind down down down.
Help me DakkaDakka, you are my only hope.

If you are running two units of genestealers, having hive commander on the tyrant is pretty much mandatory. It would also allow you to outflank the tervigon(assuming you bought him as a troop). It's risky but putitng him the enemies backfield and then spawning scoring units is a hard choice for the opponent to take.
The second question, is how are you actually running the tervigon. Is he running with the wave of guys forwand using catalyst, or since you only have two synapse guys is he anchoring your backfield-objectives?
Only one weapon to deal with landraiders at range is never enough. Either a unit of zoans or a heavy venom cannon on the tyrant would help. You don't have to kill the raider, just keep it still for a turn or two would help immensly.
My main advise, drop the tyrants devourers for the heavy venom cannon and add hive commander. Drop either a unit of genestealers or the gargoyles and add a tyranid prime for a third synapse.

I agree on Hive Commander being important for the Hive Tyrant. However, I think dropping either of those units to get a Tyranid Prime seems pricey for the extra synapse. I would say, try upgrading the Trygon to Prime status. It's only 40 points and will give you a solid triangle of synapse between your 3 MC's.

I like this list. I also like Hive Commander.
There is not enough Synapse for me. 12 Gargoyles are easy to kill and easy to loose control over. Having them Lurk is bad.
2 squads of 8 stealers is nice.
A squad of 10 termigants seems unnecessary considering the Tervigon will spawn one like that if you want.
I don't really like Tyranofex. Venom-cannons seem comparable and more realistic. Ymmv.

Yeah,Hive Commander almost seems like a must multiple 'stealer units. I think you're dead on about the 10 Termagant unit, too. He could drop that and upgrade his Trygon to a Trygon Prime to get another synapse creature out there.

If he brings a landraider and I can't shoot it down I will charge it with the Trygon.
It depends on the mission of course, but I am planing on deploying my army as far front as possible spaced out. Unless in very special cases I will not outflank the genestealers. They deploy 18" away from whatever flank is my oponents weakest flank. They, the gargoyles and the trevigon should be in charge distance the second turn of the game. The rest runs forward exept the 10 termagaint squad. Hive comander really does not give me all that mutch, although ancient ennemy (?) would.
I am also not sold on the hive tyrant and guards. 300 points is a lott to pay for some dakka, 8 wounds and synapse, although I do get coversaves. :-)
I really do think the trygon is target priorarty number 1 here. I will probably be giving him feel now pain. If he shots down my trevigon, well I supose I will have to live with that, as the trygon messes up everything.
I could get some warriors for 100 points in there since all my oponents str 8+ weapons git more urgent things to shoot at, but I am very disepointed in warriors (they just do not do anything!)

I used to runn 4 squads of 9 genestealers and the broodlord and 5 ygmars when I started out my tyranids, but I died to mech again and again and I did not have enough ranged weaponds. But come on people, I really do not need the hive comander in this list. The trevigon is best right besides the 21 Termagants so they get the benefits of the adrenald glands and the toxic sacks.
