I'm new to 40k and was wondering if it was legal for me to be stuffing a 10 man Termy Squad with SM Captain into a single landraider Redeemer if not which part is illegal the 10 man termy squad in the landraider or the SM captain accompanying them or perhaps both?

You should read your codex. It answers all these questions in the entry for the landraider in question.

Well I did and that's where my question spurs from. It says in the Codex that it can transport up to 12 models but I was wondering if that's only for regular space marines or if it counted for termy's as well since termy's appear to be larger for all intents and purposes since they cannot fit into regular transports.

You are able to get a couple more of them into a Crusader if that helps any, I think its only 8 terminator models though. Check to be sure, I have an old codex.

You could just take shrike, infiltrate them and then move, fleet / run and assault...

What I'll do is go with a LR crusader and take a 5 man termy squad, an Honor Guard Squad, and Marneus Calgar.

Ypou could also take the 10-man squad, redeemer as a DT, and the captain(in or out of termi armor, doesn't matter); then combat squad the termies(making 2 man man squads) putting one of those squads and the captain in the redeemer.
This makes the whole shebang cost 1 HQ slot, and 1 Elite Slot(not bad for 4 units). Also you can put both "heavy" weapons in one of the squads(probably the one foot-slogging; depending on weapon choice).

Sorry buddy, but only ONE squad with or with-out attached SC's per Land Raider.

It is the 3rd Millennium. For more than a hundred months Games Workshop has sat immobile on the Golden Throne of Nottingham. It is the foremost of wargames by the will of the neckbeards, and master of a million tabletops by the might of their inexhaustible wallets. It is a rotting carcass writhing invisibly with business strategies from the early Industrial Revolution Age. It is the Carrion Lord of the wargaming scene for whom a thousand veteran players are sacrificed every day, so that it may never truly die. Yet even in its deathless state, GW continues its eternal vigilance. Mighty battleforce starter-sets cross the online-store-infested miasma of the internet, the only route between distant countries, their way lit by a draconian retail trade-agreement, the legal manifestation of the GW's will. Vast armies of lawyers give battle in GW's name on uncounted websites. Greatest amongst its soldiers are the Guardians of the IP, the Legal Team, bio-engineered super-donkey-caves. Their comrades in arms are legion: the writing team and countless untested rulebooks, the ever vigilant redshirts, and the writers of White Dwarf, to name only a few. But for all their multitudes, they are barely enough to hold off the ever-present threat from other games, their own incompetence, Based Chinaman - and worse. To support Games Workshop in such times is to spend untold billions. It is to support the cruelest and most dickish company imaginable. These are the tales of those times. Forget the power of sales discounts and Warhammer Fantasy Battle, for so much has been dropped, never to be re-published again. Forget the promise of cheaper digital content and caring about the fanbase, for in the GW HQ there is only profit-seeking, Space Marines and Sigmarines. There is no fun amongst the hobby shops, only an eternity of raging and spending, and the laughter of former employees who left GW to join better companies. |

Yep. Marnie gets to go with the honor guard OR the termies.
All three can't go into the same vehicle.
Marnie+termies=1 unit with attached IC = 1 unit.
Marnie+HG= 1 unit with attached IC = 1 unit.
Marnie+HG+Termies= minimum 2 units, one with attached IC and is a no-go.
Doesn't matter if the transport CAN fit them all in. ONE unit per transport unless the transport has a rule stating otherwise.

I agree with KK.Also, for a bit of variation, you could foot slog a 5 man shooty Termie squad and run a LRR with a 5 man Assault Termie squad armed with Claws.Accompanied by Khan to give them some Furious charge S5/I5 goodness.Admittedly, thats 2 Elite slots used, but it would be fun to run and i may do just that at my next flgc meet.

Assault Termies w/ Shrike (somewhere else with assault marines), or shooty Termies with Lysander (re-roll bolter misses) out of a land raider CRUSADER is the way to go. Redeamer LR is OK, but good against a fast moving chaos SM army, but the Crusader gives you space for 16 models. Just remember termi armor takes 2 slots.
Lysander is in termi armour, so take him and a 7 man shooty termy squad (5 plus add 2 termies), I can't remember if Lysander allows re rolls with assault cannons or not, if he does take an assault cannon termi. Lots and lots of dakka...

Bolter drill does nothing for Ass-cans.
So spend those points on a Cyclone, you still get your Storm bolter's re-roll, and you get 2 frag missiles(against squads) or 2 Krak missiles(but then you probably are wasting your re-rollable storm bolters).

Take the Cyclone for the choice of a little added punch. Otherwise just unload 7 termies with bolterdrill... wow. Ass-Can is still a viable option at heavy 4, rending. You won't need bolter drill all that dakka.
