Looking for 40k players or prospective players in the Salina, Kansas area.

Local gaming shop "The Arena" has recently started carrying Warhammer 40k/Fantasy. Looking to find some people to play against or get started with the hobby.

Excellent atmosphere, excellent people, and excellent prices.

I'm actually moving to Great Bend, KS here in a few weeks and that's only about an hour west of Salina.

I also want to give a shout out to the Arena, been buying from Todd for many years now.

How far is Great Bend from Hays/Salina/Abilene - places I'm usually at. I'm a bit too lazy this morning to check a map haha.

Great Bend is just over an hour drive from Salina, and about an hour southeast of Hays. Basically the three towns make up a triangle. Abline is the wrong direction and is farther away..

Well, I'm just curious because over the summer I'll be living in Abilene, while I'm in Hays for the school year.

if you ever want to run to Salina, I'd be game to meet you there for a game or two. Just hit me up sometime.

I'd be happy to, only problem is recent hail storm trashed my car's back window, so I'm grounded till I get that replaced.

Any luck w/ your car? Or is it going to cost you an army to get it fixed?

Yeah, just got it fixed early this week. Not sure what my schedule looks like. I know I'm headed out to school in a couple weekends to game it up with my battle brothers out there, but other than that I don't know whats goin on.

I believe next Sunday is the tabletop gaming day at the Arena in Salina. I'll probably try to get there.

What time does it start?
What is the point value?
Is there a fee?

I can field any point value with Orkz. Any.

It not a tournament thing, just a dedicated day for Tabletop gaming. I think it's next weekend, but I could be wrong. I've missed it so many times haha.

no fee, and really it's just bring what you want. They're not a huge 40k place yet, but the pop's growing and they always have people there to play.

Thing is just that it's every other sunday, so you need to be there on the right one or the shops closed.

Well, let us think about this...
1. Roughly 90 miles from Larned to Salina.
2. No idea what Sunday this is.
3. Been without a game for far, far too long.
4. I'm going to cry. A lot.
5. I will wipe the tears from my eyes, and call The Arena and find out.

Yesterday was the last "miniatures day" (not just 40k) at The Arena.
Bummer.
So, the 10th is the next incarnation, and Chris said that people start showing up around 1100 hrs.
I won't be able to be there until around 1230 hrs.
What point value is the average that people want/are able to field? Just so I can have lists made up.
I like really BIG games, but understand limitations (time/models/children... etc.).

Honestly, everytime I've been there I've been too busy working on mini's to play. I'd suggest having a couple lists, probably a 1000pt and a 750pt. I personally like 1500pt.

And I won't be able to make it that weekend, as I'll be back at school playin with my buds out there.

I work for WoK, currently the office is in Ellis, but we are moving to the old A-1 Plank facility next week.

Lol several, but just not fully assembled or fully painted. Also, i don't think anyone would want to on our standard nights, because it would take forever.

I'd like to get some games in soon, just don't have access to anyone who would game.

Also, plans have changed and I may be there that sunday.

Well, it appears that the shire of West Umbria is having an armor building day, Saturday, and so, since i have a massive melon...
I have to go make my own helmet. The blacksmith says that it will require more hammering than he cares to perform.
While 40k would naturally trump SCA, but this is a special occasion.

Don't have too much fun. I'd love to make armor, like legit style. But until 40k is finished, I'll just have to drool over those people who have the dedication to make 40k and Halo suits of armor.

And once again, changes of plans.

I'll be seeing my friends this weekend, but NEXT weekend I WILL be at the arena for 40k.
