I am currently trying to glue my Hive Tyrant together and am miserably failing at gluing the legs onto the body. If you have one you will know that the legs sort of slot in and I can't quite see how I could pin it. Is there any special method? I just use metal glue followed by lots of superglue which I don't think is that effective. Thanks!

Edit: not sure how to spell gluing , Word doesnt help!

From what I've heard, mixing glue together is not a good idea, same thing goes with using lots of superglue.

Solder it together. That's the way mine stays together. Either that or magnetize it, but you will need some Dam strong magnets.

Other Dreadnaughts should just go somewhere and be a toaster.

Mattieu~~~~ It's not that eldar are bad, it's that they require a lot of intergration between units. Also, that doesnt prove anything other than GW has a huge hard-on for marines, and, given the option between making a xeno the best psykers or making a marine the best psyker, they will 9 times out of 10 choose the marine.

I used 2part epoxy glue without pinning and had no problems so far.

I used a 1 inch long pin. I kinda got bored of dropping the bugger.

I'm clumsy, so I expect you wouldn't need to go to such extent.

I use normal GW superglue and have had no trouble assembling the Tyrant (I've assembled a total of 3 of them over the course of my army). thoroughly wash the model and file the edges flat for best results.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

I magnitised all four arm sockets (and arms) and also the head (so I could turn it for better posing).

Here is a nifty little trick my manager showed me in the short time I worked at GW for gluing together troublesome metal models that you don't want to pin:

1) Put a small dab of super glue on the hip joint (ie the "female" joint)
2) Take a small piece of green stuff and place it in the small pool of super glue
3) Put a small dab of super glue the leg join (ie the "male" joint)
4) Press them firmly together moving the joints back and forth slightly to make sure you compact that green stuff
5) Use a sculpting tool and smooth out the green stuff that came out the edges

This method serves two purposes. First off the super glue holds the model in place while the green stuff dries, then when the green stuff dries it creates a super hard bond. I have dropped my tyrant from chest level and not had him break using this method. Another really nice bonus is that since the green stuff basically "oozes" out the sides of the entire joint it also serves to get rid of the joint lines to create a complete looking model. The most important advise someone can give you in regards to using super glue is use as little of it as possible. You run into troubles once you start using a lot of it. I started using this method about 7 years ago and it is how I glue all my metal models together, works like a charm

I agree this method can work really well, I used to use it. Problem is it can be quite messy and hard to clean up later if you want to repose/repaint models. If you were to do this i'd probably still recommend a bit of pin work also so that less glue/greenstuff is needed.
