I'm tired of getting beat up at 1000 points. The Tau and BT so far haven't been a problem...The DE on the other hand...Keep smashing me. Mainly the wyches and archon w/ inccubi in boats are giving me my most trouble.

Suggestions??

Just off the top of my head, I'd drop the meltaguns in favor of some flamers, maybe take some missile launching havocs as well. I can't speak for DE, but my eldar forces always seem to suffer from template weapons.

Read the posting guidelines. You're giving away GW's Intellectual Property when you post exact point values, which could get Dakka in trouble, so edit those out. Plus, you've typed way more that most folks do.

I'd switch from DB to LashoSub. Lash works wonders. Move the wyches *away* from you, out into the open where their Invuln is no good and gun 'em down with Oblit plasma cannons, which ought to Instant Death any multi-wound DE.

sk82712 wrote:Troops: Chaos Space Marines Meltagun x2 1 Aspiring Champion,
Why doesn't the AspChamp have a Pfist? I know you said you're problems are DE, but a PFist is great against tau suits and BTs.

Sturmtruppe is right. Too many MGs. I'd favor PGs instead of flamers. You don't need the MGs for anti-tank against DE boats as basic bolter fire will do the job. The PGs will be better because you'll want to play gun-line against the emo-elves. And better than flamers too, as h2h is the last thing you want with DE. Also, be sure to deploy on the very back edge to deny 1st Turn assault.

How are you playing against the BT player? Gun-line or aggressive move&assault?

Thanks for the heads up Erekose. Edited it all out. It was generated from AB. :-/

I've used the lash quite awesomely against DE after I crack a few ships. Although I was running 2 daemon princes at the time, and I might go back to it. My logic on this list (which isn't really geared for DE all that well, I admit) was that my sorc. didn't have a transport so would probably be hanging in the back with the oblits and slowly advancing. So AP3 made sense against MEQ.

Anyway, I normally run gunline against the DE, but keep continually getting smashed. Although, this concept of deploying at the back of my deployment zone is new. Haha.

I'm out of points to give out the pfist. although I can easily change it.

As far as against BT, charge pretty much anything except his command squad in the land raider (something like 50% of his points in a 1000 point game). And just been cracking the LR with oblit las and or a spider then gunning them down with heavies while i stay out of assault range w/ my normal CSM. Seems to work quite well. In a 1k point game, he doesn't have any hard hitters besides the CMD squad / emp. champion.

Thanks for the help.

And in my defense, before you think 'man, this guy is an idiot', the CSM are brand new to me. I've had the army less than a week....I can't pass up an insane deal when I find one. Haha

Keep in mind, your sorcerer can *stay* in his rhino and use Lash through fire point.

CSM aren't Fearless, but the DE shouldn't be able to start them making morale checks if his priority is to get in h2h ASAP.

If you're doing well enough against T&BTs without it, then ... eh.
....

I don't think you're an idiot, just new to the army, like me. I have only 4 games under my belt with *my* CSM army, but the games have been 2k so there's a lot more going on.

Now, with 6 years of playing SM off and on, and having fought CSM a lot, I know them rather well.

Do you own the Codex: DE? Are you able to eyeball their threat range? A Raider or Venom will Move 12", infantry will disembark ~2 (add the 25 mm base), Run d6 (a good d6 if the right Combat Drugs comes up) and *then* Assault (with Fleet)! That's a lot of ground they can cover! So, with a standard 'Pitched Battle' deployment, they *could* max to nearly 27 inches (with all favorable rolls and terrain) putting you pretty much on your heels on the back edge. Try it and see how it comes out. PM me to let me know the results.
