Hey guys, heres an attempt at a 1500pt Necron list. I grew tired of waiting for GW to rerelease them, so I went out and brought some models. I want to avoid a monolith as I hate the model.

HQ

The Nightbringer – 360pts

Troops

12 Necron Warriors – 216pts

12 Necron Warriors – 216pts

Fast Attack

5 Destroyers – 250pts

5 Scarabs – 60pts

Heavy Support

Heavy Destroyers – 195pts

Tomb Stalker – 195pts

Total 1492pts

Any Comments or Criticisms...

Tactics - Nightbringer and Tombstalker are going to be the real CC hammer units, getting into the heat of the battle as soon as possible taking down the enemies stronger units. The destroyers will act as a moving weapon platform, hunting down any threats. The heavy destroyers will sit back and take potshots at enemy tanks and elites. whilst the warriors will simple sit on objectives, hopefully holding their own during the shooting stage, with the scarabs jumping in to prevent the warriors getting assaulted and pulled into CC.

Thoughts?

Thanks

IF you last past turn four I would be surprised. It'll take several turns to get the C'Tan into combat as well as the TombStalker (a FW model not typically available in normal play let alone tournaments). Your PO is 8 so most knowledgeable players will just ignore all everything but the warriors and just pulverize them. Take out the warriors and you lose. In fact, take out MOST of the warriors and you lose.

Without a Monolith to provide cover and more WBB rolls to your necrons, you're going to need allot more warriors to avoid phasing out.

drop the night bringer, tomb stalker, and scarabs. this leaves enough points for 3 units of 10 warriors and more destroyers

Might i suggest droping the Ctan and geting a Lord with the Ressurection Orb & a Lord with Veil of Darness, Phase shifter

and for the tomb spider id replace with more scarabs they are great for tieing units up plus with turbo booster + small target(free) gives tehm a 2+ cover save

Rough army to play right now but still fun. I personally like lord on a destroyer body with veil so you can get your guys outta bad situations. Jet around to safer areas and poof em to you etc. unfortunately you cannot take the ever needed res orb in this setup. Without a monolith or two makes staying out of phase out tough. I dislike the model as well, 60ish bucks for a pyramid....blah. Aesthetics is a big part of why I chose my armies, but function may beat form in this case.

Tombstalker looks fun and I would love to play against it! I like scarabs but find them a bit underpowered. Scarabs are supposed to tar pit or turbo boost and contest, I would either run no scarabs or LOTS. Your idea of bubble wrapping your warriors with scarabs is great, I just am unsure 5 can do it well enough. Your other fast attack choices are awesome in comparison to them.

I would drop the Heavy Destroyers and bring the Warrior squads down to 10x for another unit of 5x Destroyers. That should give you some extra firepower to pop open transports for if the TS and the NB ever hit CC.
