Hey guys, so I just finished up my ork army and have been starting to look into the next big thing for me to start working on. I've brought down to a choice between death company BA, IG, or a mainly MC tyranid list. Are there any lists out there for Nids that are feasible on the table that contain a large amount of MC/high point models? I'm looking to create a low-ish model count nid army, since I love their models but am not wanting to do another horde list. Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

One I saw for ard boyz ran like 5 tervigons a mawloc, trygon prime, Hive guard, termies & stealers. Actually did pretty well. The problem with Nid-zilla lists is the lack of cover for them & that they don't have invulns so you're vulnerable to melta / krak missiles..

Trade rules: lower rep trades ships 1st. - I ship within 2 business days, if it will be longer I will contact you & explain. - I will NOT lie on customs forms, it's a felony, do not ask me to mark sales as "gifts". Free shipping applies to contiguous US states.

Trygons and Tervigons will likely form the backbone of your force. If you'd like a themed MC army, you can use Warriors to fill out the Troops.

The main problem with Nidzilla lists are poison weapons and instant kill weapons, as well as high AP ones. They all chew through nids like crazy.

Also, did he have Ymgarl Stealers? Because if he took normal stealers with 5 Tervigons, it would be breaking the rules (you need one squad of termagants to take a Tervigon as troops, so the max you could ever have s 5, 3 troops + 2 HQ. This also means that Termagants filled up the rest of the FoC).

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

Basically, the lack of the ability to upgrade your MCs to have a 2+ save in the new codex makes them vulnerable to krak missile spam, which is common in tournaments.

Also, people have forgotten what terrain is for, so cover saves for big creatures are rarer.

If you're okay with some warriors to fill out your troops, non-horde lists are pretty cool. Stealers are great too, but warriors can get some shooting in there, which is more than welcome, unless you spam HVCs or something.

Well, really, I'm not trying to be "tournament worthy". I just want to be able to show up at the local store and not have a hard time leaving because I'm spread thin all over the walls from being creamed so hard (no sexual connotation intended?). So, Warriors/Stealers as troops, lots of tervs/maws and hive guard is the way to go? Are fex's still viable or is it better to go the way of the mawloc? I just love the 'fex models <3 (not that mawlocs don't rock!). And what about my fast attack options?

Actually.... How does one go about converting something into a Tervigon? What is generally used/required to make one?

Lots of greenstuff, a carnifex and maybe some little termagants popping out of it It's not easy. You might as well just use an unconverted carnifex. Most players don't have a problem with that.

Hmmm I see lol. I have yet to dabble with greenstuff, and I'm sure I would ruin a perfectly sexy carnifex lol. Is tehre any other way to have a decent MC list without tervigons? I'm a "have the model or screw it" kind of guy I'm not a fan of proxy-ing stuff. Gotta have the real thing, or at least close!

You could go for Warriors as troops I guess, but Tervigons are very good and can provide some saturation to your other MC's.

A venomthrope could also provide some Cover saves to your MC's.

I once ran this list: 3 Tervigons, 4 Carnifices, Trygon, and Hive Tyrant @ 2000 points, rounded out by a few gangs of termagants.

It barely beat a Dark Angels Combined Death/Ravenwing list.

What I'm saying is that it takes skill.

There's just an acre of you fellas, isn't there?
