Are there any rules out there for a tank that falls between the Leman Russ and the Baneblade in terms of size? Also, are there any rules for a lighter version of the Leman Russ (an Imperial Guard medium tank)? Thanks.

Lighter tanks would be the macador Tanks and the other "Counterfeit baneblades". However the Leman Russ rulewise can already be classified as a heavy tank, since the only non-superheavy to have heavier armor than its is the Land Raider, and nothing else has more weapons.

Medium Tanks would probably be any tank based off the Chimera chassis. There was also an article about how to make a small fighting vehicle out of a Chimera and use it as a count-as Sentinel. However with the site's new layout, they deleted the article =(

I'd classify the tanks of the imperium (including SM) like this:
Superheavies - Baneblades
Heavies - Leman Russ, Land Raider
Medium battle tanks - Predators, Hell Hounds
Light battle Tanks / APC - Rhino, Chimera, Razorback
Scout Vehicles - Sentinels, Land Speeders.

Trade rules: lower rep trades ships 1st. - I ship within 2 business days, if it will be longer I will contact you & explain. - I will NOT lie on customs forms, it's a felony, do not ask me to mark sales as "gifts". Free shipping applies to contiguous US states.

come to think of it, there's rarely a super heavy that has heavier armor than the Russ. They only have Structure Points.

that isnt a tank, that's a moving fortress XD

Me thinks the Warboss was compensating for something. It also reminds me of that gun the Germans used that was hilariously awesome but impractical.

Leman Russes (from the front, at least) and especially Land Raiders are about as heavy as you can go using conventional stats. Beyond that, you leave the AV at 14 and start adding structure points. The Malcador tank mentioned has AV14 and 2 structure points, putting it right between a LR and a Baneblade, which is reflected in the size of the FW kit for it. The guns operate independently, as well, IIRC, and it functions in most other respects just like a smaller super heavy. Stats can be found in IA 5, I think (first book on the Siege of Vraks).

The Macharius Heavy Tank is what lies between the Leman Russ and Baneblade (basically same AV values as Leman Russ tanks and Baneblades, but where the LR has no structure points, or equivalently 1 with its Lumbering Behemoth rule, the Macharius has 2 while the Baneblade has 3)

The Malcador is somewhat along the same lines but not really in the same direct lineage. Thinner armor and different weaponry.

As for a lighter Leman Russ, the closest you are going to get is the Hellhound and its derivatives, or a Chimera with an Autocannon turret. A Devil Dog actually would be a good approximation. Strong blast weapon, medium armor, good speed, secondary hull weapon, sounds like a medium tank to me.

IRON WITHIN, IRON WITHOUT.

New Heavy Gear Log! Also...Grey Knights!
The correct pronunciation is Imperial Guard and Stormtroopers, "Astra Militarum" and "Tempestus Scions" are something you'll find at Hogwarts.

The term "light tank" will all be dependant on your definition of a tank. The Chimera can either count as a Light tank or Infantry fighting vehicle with a turret, which would make the Hellhound and it's derrivatives light tanks, and thus the Leman Russ a Medium Tank, with the Malcador and Macharius filling the role of heavy tanks. However going on the Imperium's entire arsenal of tanks, the Predator is probably the closest to a Medium tank in comparison to the Leman Russ.

Methinks you've got that confused with the German guns "Schwerer Gustaf" and "Dora" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schwerer_Gustav), the two massine railroad guns that MechaEmperor7000 mentioned. They both clock in as the biggest artillery piece (caliber wise) to see actual combat. Size wise, they'd probably blow everything else out of the water.

There is a tank in the DKoK background known as the ragarok tank. Although it is very much like a leman russ in various descriptions, I personally like to think it looks like a russian T-35 Heavy Tank.

The real life versions, though, were going to be made into real tanks. The Landkreuzer P1500 Monster mounted the Dora gun as it's main weapon. It looks alot like the Shadowsword without a roof.
