Possessed Khorne Marine Covered in Spikes

On a hate rampage.

I got bored of the cliched Ultramarines, Eagle Warriors look too.. happy for what space marines are, and now I want to re-re paint my army. I really want to have a "Dramatic" army, one with a cool name and colour scheme. I'd really appreciate input!

I seem to recall that WAY back in the day, space marines got camo painschemes. I always thought it would be neat if someone did that nicely (unlike the relatively hokey way they were done in the first place).

Color schemes aside, look for a dramatic name of your own choosing. I call mine the Void Jackals, which sounds both a bit evil and Egyptian to me. The paint scheme is basic black, but the name adds some character in my opinion.

Remember, any paint scheme you choose will realistically need to painted on 50 or so models, so don't make it too complex.

Personally I thought those 'hokey' camo schemes were awesome. They reflected the alien nature of many of the worlds they were going on.

Here's an example of a more hokey camo scheme, my personal chapter: The Knights of St. Abaddon

This is really a matter of personal taste, something we'd need more input on, otherwise the thread will simply be as above, people listing random chapters -they- think are good (And props to the above, some Chapters I'd completely forgotten about and was glad to see again), but you may not.

I personally like the Crimson Fists:

Because I like the way the darkened crimson and blue of the armor looks together...although this isn't the best picture, it was one of the few I could find where the armor was actually painted the darkened blue of the Crimson fists, instead of a blue more reminiscent of the Ultramarines.

Are there any colors that you dislike, or wouldn't paint your minis? Remember, you have to paint 30+ models these, and that's not even including your support vehicles and the like, so it's going to have to be something you like and want to paint them....You could really dislike the color blue for example, because of the Ultramarines.....you wouldn't be the only one .

Just trying to get some more info to help us help you.

I like the idea of 'St' Abaddon, though I know its a different one to the Despoiler.

The Astral Knights? They've been destroyed by crashing their ship into the Necron World Engine. But I suppose if you want you could still use them.

Not entirely destoyed. The few left are guading the memorial of their brothers. It did say there were about 600 or so marines that boarded the World Engine so i'd guess a minimum of 100 survivors with Sergeant being the highest command rank.
