I have, for the past few week or so, been developing a fandex based around the monsters in the DOOM games. Since that game works, as most first-person shooter games do, by reducing monsters' health to zero, the fandex is currently filled with multi-wound monstrosities (some of which are Monstrous Creatures). Without getting too specific, how viable do you think something like this would be in the modern game, especially in light of the current metagame?

Consider the amount of Instant Death Weapons and how much firepower the average army can put out in a single turn. T6 models might break the game, but T4 models are extremely easy to deal with (lascannons galore). There is also the matter of their performance. taking off one wound on a tactical squad means it directly impacts the squad's combat effectiveness, even if small. Taking out one or even two wounds on a unit of 3 wound monsters means literally nothing.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

When I'm editing alot, you know I have a gakload of homework to (not) do.
