I've done a search of the forum and I heard that Simple Green cleaning agent is highly recommended for cleaning old models by removing paint (I saw a big bowl of simple green in a forum screenshot with Necrons floating in it).

I have three questions:

1- Which variety of Simple Green cleaner is it, the degreaser?
2- Is there an equivalent cleaning agent, what is the active ingredient?? I'm not sure if they sell Simple Green in Australia
3- Does the cleaning agent attack super glue or plastic cement ( I assume not)

Thanks for any help ... I'm going to order some more old Eldar off e-bay once I get the intel

I'm just trying to avoid buying the wrong stuff...

Simple Green is available here (I got mine from Bunnings). I think it is the degreaser you're after too. Works a charm, used it to strip down some scouts and my old dwarf slayer king figure.

Forgot to add, it can affect superglue I think, but it won't affect plastic glue at all.

Not sure if you can get it in Au but I use castrol super clean engine degreaser for all my paint stripping. Stuff is the best I've ever used

Bunnings has it?? awesome!!

after you use it, how do you dispose of it? Not sure if you can tip it down the sink?

Bunnings has it. I use the multi-purpose cleaner... the lemon one when I can get it, as the wife uses it for actual cleaning as well, and it smells better than the green stuff.

And yes, it's fine to just tip down the sink. That's one of the big plusses for Simple Green over a lot of the alternatives.
