Help me choose a kabal and color scheme

I couldn't really decide if this went in the background section or the P&M section, so I just put it here. Anyway, I'm buying some kabalite warriors today, and I'm also buying the paints I'll use on them. I need help choosing a kabal and, thus, a color scheme for them. I'm thinking of going with the Flayed Skull or the Poisoned Tongue. I like the Poisoned Tongue's color scheme (the one shown here), but I like the Flayed Skull because they're just really cool (painting faces with blood, displaying "grisly trophies" on their raiders and ravagers, winning battles without setting a foot on the ground, etc.), although the Poisoned Tongue might be cool too, I've just never been able to find any information about them, aside from their color scheme--although even that is shown differently in the Codex than it is on gamesworkshop.com.

So what do you guys, personally, think? Flayed Skull or Poisoned Tongue? Or do you have other suggestions?

I think you should go with the style of the Poisoned Tongue, but use orange and red as the colors instead of blue. However I just have a preference for red =P

Ick, I would never do orange and red. I'd do orange and black, though. But that would be Flayed Skull.

I looked it up on Lexicanum and the Flayed Skull looks to only have a helmet in orange. When I get my DE I'm painting them Tron-lines style

Lots of the kabals are shown differently in different places. Maybe you just have to get the general look and then you can call it whatever?

well a unified color scheme does help. paint up a few test models, and use some Simple Green to strip them if you dont like them.

Yeah, I just meant the unified color scheme has to be close to the canon color scheme. Also, why do you suggest simple green?

Simple Green is one of the best solvents for disolving acrylic paints, but it doesnt harm the plastic whatsoever. I once left plastic models soaking in it for three months straight and no damage was incurred. Other types of solvents (like Acetone or Pine Sol) tend to degrade the plastic after a few days or after a week.

So could you play with models for years and then soak them in Simple Green if you wanted to repaint them, or does it not work after you spray sealant on them?

havent tried sealant-coated models yet, but I never seal any test models. Given that most varnishes and seals are just non-pigmented Acrylic Paints (i.e: completely transparent paints) it would probably work too. I've stripped models that were over 5 years old and possibly older with only a few days soak in Simple Green.

I've thought about inventing my own, but I don't really have any great ideas and I'm not familiar enough with the background of 40k to create any history for my kabal.
