Was looking through my old codex edditions and found this guy that I reserched and found his fluff instreasting. This is my Attempt at a 5th ed version of him. Points Cost reason listed at bottom

Gave him stubborn and ATSKNF for free becuase it makes sense.

Actually just read the rynnsworld book, Cortez is a stubborn beast.

Because he has a 3+3++ I'm actually ok with the points cost and even the crazy immortal rule, however I may be more inclined to give him artificer armor, EW and FNP

cortez has a bolt pistol, not a SS.
and FNP for 50pts?
go FNP and EW for 30pts.
captain- 100pts
PF- 125pts
artificier armour- 140pts
FNP, EW, stubborn- 180pts

Yeah I see that too. It just i wanted him to be unique and at least affordable Point Wise. The Immortal rule has weaknessed becuase their are some effects that dont cause wounds.
EW + FNP makes him a Space Wolf Lord/BA Captain thus not unique. I did not want to make him an Mephiston wannabe so normal statline.

EW is 35 pts in SW codex. with FNP + Artificer prob be low 200 pts.

That's FNP that is not affected by ap or instant death.

SS is more of a fluff wise becuase he had a 3+ in past and bolt pistol + PF sucks. So might as well give him SS.

Fluff wise: He comes back they give him an SS and he goes back to take on the new dark eldar. Following Lysanders fluff but vs Dark Eldar

fair enough. so a 2+/3++ PF-wielding captain with a 4+ ignore save? after seeing lysander and mephiston, okay!

If you want to run a satisfactory rules simulation of Captain Cortez, just do a counts as Lysander. 4 wounds, Eternal warrior, Str 10 Thunderhammer (Or for cortez a master crafted powerfist), 3+ invulnerable with 2+ armor, all this I feel represents him perfectly in the fluff. I haven't had a problem using a model mounted on a terminator base with a large powerfist as Lysander, so long as they know he follows all of Lysander's rules.

Yeah but this guy you can put in rhino/razorbacks etc. + he cheaper slightly.

However everyone in the game has "artistic liscense" to change the base size. The only thing you need to do before hand is have your opponents permission to play that model (and yes I have made up a model that represents Cortez using lots of greenstuff and spare bits). Otherwise just keep a TH/SS terminator right there if they object to the model for Cortez. Since it's a Crimson Fist army (And most people that play the game know enough about the fluff for them) usually people don't have problems with it.

Men ride in Land Raiders, Real men get attached to a TH/SS squad and deployed in front of your enemy's army using deep strike.
