Hey y'all,

I was just reading dex Eldar and I found something rather suprising,

Pg 35, under exarch power, it says ...The player may elect to remove A UNIT with skyleap from the table in itsmovement phase...

If we understand the statement the different way, does it mean I can take a hawk unit and then leap a lets say a wraithlord?

It might sound stupid, if you think so prove your point.Normally I would play like how everyone thinks about it, but...just curious.

Thanks for replies/your precious time

There's your answer.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

When people ask, "What's the point in understanding everything?" they've just disqualified themselves from using questions and should disappear in a puff of paradox. But they don't understand and just continue existing, which are also their only two strategies for life.

The problem is you are thinking of Skyleap as being a noun performing an action (removing) rather than an adjective.

The player is performing an action, the action is removing. The unit to be removed has to have skyleap, hence 'remove a unit with skyleap'

This does not mean skyleap removes a unit, it is a player removing a unit to be removed the unit must have skyleap.

First of all Skyleap is an Exarch power so its not like there is a unit with the Skyleap power so you can remove it.

Reading it your way you are right. The rules give you the chance to remove any unit you want. But to be honest I don't think that this is what the rules mean !

A new day, a new time zone.

No, the way he's reading it is wrong. This is not a case of GW writing a rule poorly, this is a case of someone failing to use English correctly. Then again, since you're not a native English speaker, it's understandable that the reason Tony is wrong might slip past you.

Well, mostly because it is. The only way your reading works is if you chop the sentence into bits and read just the parts that support your reading while ignoring everything else. You're 'removing a unit with skyleap.' The unit being removed has skyleap.

I think he was hoping for "remove a unit from the table with skyleap" which is not the same at all as "remove a unit with skyleap from the table".

Even if you do read it as the former, you're still stuck with the rule that Exarch abilities only work on the Exarch's own unit... So to break no rule, you would be allowed to remove any unit from the table, so long as it is a unit of Aspect Warriors that the Exarch is a part of...

I'd actually let you remove a wraithlord with skyleap. now how is he suppose to get back in the game? Riddle me that.

mrdabba if I can remove it successfully then I guess I can bring him back with the rest of the skyleap rules.
Thanks guys for pointing out my mistakes.
